His defense in this game was pretty horrid. About to go through the Wizards game next hope its better. He has a real Nice NBA body and has more then enough athletic ability. I see a lack of BB IQ though , same problem with Leslie

the level of play in this game will make anyone look sloppy by association ... def has nba body athleticism and an idea of how to use his big body with some coordination and skill on the offensive end, both on the perimeter and in the post ... looked like one of those post moves in the lane was a travel... all in all, he is something to be excited for.
is there a risk someone else can sign him before camp? |

His game will probably be restricted to K-mart's game to start off if he sticks. Maybe they will post him up some but his main goals should be hustling, rebounding, setting good screens, & finishing. Add stuff later.

You can also see how leaving high school early slowed his basketball IQ and development skills. When I look at him, I see a HS kid mentally and a grown man physically. When and if his basketball IQ matches his physical size, strength and athleticism....he will be a beast. But you can say that about 90% of the basketball players trying to earn an NBA contract. He definitely has the most potential, compared to other non-drafted players. CJ is also a sleeper….The problem is that he plays like he’s high. The game is too easy for him, and he’s used to going half speed and still killing. I know this problem very well. It takes a lot of work to fix, but it’s fixable. But back to Tyler, I like his motor on offense and scoring ability. When he scores it seems like he injects energy and momentum into the team. He plays with passion which can be contagious. Man he really needs to start understanding that when the shot goes up you put a body on a body. He also he unbelievably slow to rotate and doesn't seem to enjoy playing help D. Guy makes Chris Copeland look like Dennis Rodman by comparison.
His offense is pretty impressive though and being at the end of the bench and learning D and O from certain bigs should only improve his game, if he really is willing, so I hope we find a spot for him. Other guys - Toure Murry is a solid looking player, whereas Chris Smith looks like a pile of dog**** out there. |

I was hoping that maybe Chris would show some improvement, but I saw nothing. He's just not any good. He has this belief he's a lot better than he is. He makes no impact. I don't see even the slightest PG skill. Murry looks FAR more ready to help on the NBA level. Even if he doesn't have the PG spot 100% down, he's shown enough to know he can do it. More importantly he's shown NBA level defensive ability. Murry is like a skinny Shump on D. We could use a defender like him when we need to shut a team down on the perimeter. |

Tyler has a good skill level already. If he was coming out of college this year he'd be a top 10 pick. Can't let that fact escape notice. He's 22 and how many kids do we see with his size, skill and physical talent? Just give this kid some solid minutes and let him acclimate to the pro level. Actually think STAT, KMart and Tyson are excellent role models for the kid. They all have things they can teach him.
