He's had a nice Summer League and is exactly what this team needs in terms of youth and athleticism on the perimeter. I've been surprised be his handle and ability to create in Summer League - not that the Knicks would ask him to do that if he ever saw time in the NBA, but this guy is a nice player. Very athletic, and definitely more of a fluid SF than a post player.

We need to add a guy around his size (6'9 or so) with athleticism who can play the perimeter.

He looks like another stealth move by Grunwald - apparently we told him we'd sign him and he shut down his workouts for everyone else. He's a great guy to stash at the end of the bench, shuttle back and forth between the D League and the team, and a guy who could develop into an actual rotation player in a few years - he was a top recruit coming out of HS and tested as one of the best athletes in the draft.

The team partially guaranteed his deal and views him as a late first round pick. I'm sure he is a lock for the team.

Hes going to need a year in the D league to refine his game and work on his J but he has a chance to be a solid SF if he can do these things. Hes got handle--just needs to tighten it up a bit and the main thing is jumpshot development. I think he looks a little hurt right now they said he was hurt but he can get up much higher than we have seen.

I can't remember - do the Knicks have the set-up like a lot of teams now do with the partially owning a D League team, so we can shuttle him back and forth as we see fit? I completely agree - sending him to the D League and getting him 35 minutes per game with certain things to work on would really accelerate his growth, and if there are injuries we can just call him up and at the very least we know we have a guy with an NBA body and all-world athleticism.

nice prospect and essentially a 2nd draft pick, which just goes to show you how silly all of the belly-aching was about trading a draft pick in 2016.

The Knicks have that set up with the BayHawks. Allan Houston runs is the executive for that team. They are only allowed to have two players under contract with the Knicks playing at erie at anytime and those contracts count as roster spots from the 15 allotted. I am hoping that they have a developmental coach down there that works specifically with guys under contract for the Knicks to get them ready for coming up.
I'm tired,I'm tired, I'm so tired right now......Kristaps Porzingis 1/3/18
