Isola reporting that Woodson is trying to convince Billups to come back to NY, but he might be too expensive.

That would be great if Billups isn't spent.

Surprised he hasn't asked Stockton yet, more in the age group of his choice.

Billups is the new Kidd. We will ride him early until he breaks down.

Really...

Billups/Tinsley/Bell/Fisher/Dooling/Duhon should all be offered 3yr deals from us

read he won't play for minimum.

We gave him 14mil. Funny to think of it that way and he "don't want to play for min.

In understand its just biz, but ironic.

this is really getting embarrassing
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

It seems silly to just keep going after these guys knowing we don't have the money. That chump change left over Mini MLE ain't gonna get nothing but garbage. Might as well bring in some kids with energy and coach em up. This team is scared to go with young players, I can understand that, but really what's the point of getting the broke down vets who can't make it thru a full 82 and the playoffs?

Likely someone is gonna eventually take our money, but will they be much better than a young hungry and likely more athletic young player? We spent ourselves into a corner and that's just the reality of the situation. I think we've got enough veteran presence on this team. Surely we can get by with a bench full of kids to fill in and keep the vets fresh.

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

This is Woodson we are talking about. He would play a dead body before he played a young player. By resigning JR he basically took starter minutes away from Shumpert, regardless of who actually starts. This isn't about getting veteran leadership the dude has no idea how to coach. So he wants players that don't need coaching. He is just exposing himself further with these moves. Like someone else mentioned - it's embarrassing.

The more vets he gets the less he has to coach.

The ghost of Red Holzman lives on.

Hell no to Billups. What role does he even play on this team? He's been a SG the last 2 seasons in LA. And he'll be 37 when the season starts. When we already have Felton, Prigioni, JR, Shumpert, and Hardaway (maybe) in the backcourt what sort of value would Billups possibly add?
Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

Woodson needs that guard who aspires to be a coach. We launch them of late.

If he can get Billups to be a player/coach than Woodson doesn't have to do anything! Hell I'd try to get him too.
Rose is not the answer.

Good question....our back court is set aside from trying to add a young point guard into the mix.

Knicks need to get the front court in order

Woody understands it's a players league, so he wants to make a player the coach on the floor, so he can sit back and be 1st assistant.

Never a doubt in my mind that they Knicks would be interested in Billups. Woody has some serious insecurities about his coaching abilities.
