In the workouts, Bell shot well and outplayed first round draft pick Tim Hardaway Jr. in one on one drills, a source said, leaving the Knicks surprised given Bell sat out the entire 2012-13 season.

raga bell will always be a baller,

he's another dirt cheap scorer we can add to drop buckets

If Bell is going to play SF I'm ok with it. We already have enough SGs on the roster, if anything we need a PG. Making it harder for Shump to play his natural position. Or are they going to try and convert Shump to a PG? Rather he played the 2.

A 21 year old 1st round pick should not be schooled by a 36 year old.

No debate, but that just shows how ordinary the guy we picked really is. It doesn't make the case for Bell to make the roster. But then Woody is hell bent on coaching teams with average of 35+

I don't know about that, Bell has veteran smarts and he's spent the last year training apparently. Hardaway still has a lot to learn.

True but I would rather see Hardaway outplay him. Looks like we are going to do the same thing with guards that we did with bigs--were going for 5 guys over 35 years old. Why dont they sighn that kid off of the OKC SL team hes 23 and looks real good. After committing to Prigs do we need another 38 year old PG?

So would I. Also right that we would be better off getting younger, but I wouldn't be too concerned about someone with Bell's experience beating a 21 year old in a game of one on one. Not a big deal IMO if Bell is in great shape. If it was Bibby then I would be ringing the alarm bells LOL.

Playing one on one and 5 on 5 are two completely different animals.

Free agent guard Raja Bell worked out for the Knicks in New York on Monday and stood out to the point where he could receive consideration for a roster spot, a league source told RealGM.

The Knicks have been intrigued by the outside shooting and defensive versatility that Bell is known for, and they invited him into their facility on Monday. In the workouts, Bell shot well and outplayed New York’s incoming rookies in one on one drills, a source said, leaving the Knicks surprised given Bell sat out the entire 2012-13 season.

No mention of THJ in the real gm article that sighted anonymous sources ( Bell's agent? ).

This is going to be a problem until Woodson either changes philosophy or changes zip codes. I understand placing your faith in players with experience, but if last year showed us anything, it's that these guys don't have much thread left on the tires. Bell may have beat THJ in a one on one, but will he be able to do it for a whole NBA season. As we have seen, the grind will take it's toll. We need to be developing our young guys for now and the future. Lance Stephenson is a great example. Two years ago, he couldn't be trusted to do anything. Now, he's looked at as an up and coming star. We really need to wise up.

Exactly. That's what you should be concerned about, not this one game. Its not a true indicator of what would happen over the course of a season or even in one full court game.
