Ah another head case with a long history of suspensions. What are we waiting for???
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

haha... hes got some miles on him even considering the suspensions. hes lost some of his defensive edge from games i have seen over the recent seasons.

GO TEAM VENTURE!!!!!

My biggest worry about Metta is his complaining about his touches and stirring up trouble. That would be more of a headache than his other antics IMO. Metta did that in LA.

Metta I think actually understands what it would mean to win in NY....

How cool would it be to get all these NYC products on our bench?
Odom, Metta, Brand, Telflair....all these guys could come here for the veterans minimum.

For every headcase we have a steady guy either ahead or behind them in the depth chart. One of the knocks on our team was that we don't have enough dogs. We don't have enough defenders....

Artest would come here to back up Melo and spot start if needed. He wouldn't be relied upon to play 30 plus minutes. He would be relied upon to piss off everyone we face....we need some goons. Metta is a Goony...

KG wanna say Melo's wife taste like honey nut cherrios? Metta would handle that one way or another.

Suggested rule of thumb for future trades/FA acquisitions: If the Spurs wouldn't make a run at him, neither should we.

This, of course, is actually why Ron Artest will be a Knick next season.

Did they make a run at Spree? How'd that work out?

It was kind of meant as a joke. But even so, yeah Spree worked out well. Much better than say Eddy Curry, Stephon Marbury or Stevie Franchise. Meantime the Spurs won 4 championships.

I watched a ton of Laker games and Metta was actually really good. He did a lot of positive things and wasn't a problem. He's not a perfect player, but he has calmed down a lot over the years and being a Laker was good for him. He's crazy but mostly productive on the court. He's a tough defender and can hit timely shots and rebound as well. He'll abuse weaker players, which can be a plus.

They say luck is when opportunity meets preparation, Spurs had a good deal of both.

he wouldn't be a bad player to take going by on court things he brings. A league avg 3 pt shooter who defends well. Maybe he even has a better year playing less minutes.
