As of right now i think we are in pretty good shape as we only need to fill one more rotation position, backup big man. Main targets of course are Brand and KMart. This is how i see things now:

C Chandler
PF Bargnani
SF Anthony
SG Shumpert
PG Felton
6th Smith (28-32 mpg)
7th Stoudemire (18-20 mpg)
8th Backup big man (12-18 mpg)
9th Prigioni (15-20 mpg)
10th Hardaway Jr (spot minutes)

It should be very important this season to keep a consistent starting line-up and rotation. Can't start players like White, Camby, etc one game, play them 10-12 mins, then keep them out of the rotation the next game. Need consistency in this area. I think we are almost there with this rotation and will improve chemistry because of it. We really need to sign a quality big man however, but still some decent options left. The rest of the lineup i am content filling out with summerleague standouts, etc such as Leslie, Jordan, and a 3rd string PG.

If they want to keep Melo at the 4 it might be more like this:

C Chandler
PF Anthony
SF Shumpert
SG Felton
PG Prigs
6th Smith (28-32 mpg)
7th Bargnani (28 mpg)
8th STAT (18-20 mpg)
9th Backup PG (15-20 mpg)
10th Hardaway Jr (spot minutes)

We still need to round out the roster with another big, PG and there's CJ Leslie, Chris Smith, etc....

The way i see it, Melo still is a 4 in this offense with a stretch big man like Bargnani, he just won't have to guard big men. That is best case scenario for us.

I agree.....I think these three will have better chemistry than Amari's big three.

Melo
Bargs
Chandler

All three do not have to be in the same spots to be affective. Amari, Chandler take up the same spots on the floor, and makes it easy for other teams to guard us. Or trap Melo and leave either Chandler or Amari open for a jumper. Plug in Bargs, and you could have a matchup nightmare in our favor.

The problem I see is Smith. I beleive Woodson might have told him that he will start, if he signs the dotted line. If thats the case, you have to replace Prigs for Smith. Since Prigs and Felton are the only reliable PG's, I don't think it's wise to play them both in the starting lineup.

I agree this should be the starting lineup. Shump should be playing the 2 and defending their 2 as well. Melo should go back to SF in part because he might not get as banged up going up against smaller players, other teams can always change the plan though.

Prigs starting for an entire season isn't a good idea. Want him to have something left for the playoffs. I want to see how Bargs does in the staring lineup playing along side Chandler.

If Melo is to play PF I hope we can acquire a SF good enough to start so Shump can go back to the 2. Don't think its a good idea to have them both playing out of position even though Melo does a good job there.

At this point there really are limited options for the Knicks. I know Lamar Odom has had a rough couple of years, but we need some size in the lineup. I wouldn't be opposed to another ball handler in the lineup.

If he can get himself into shape might make sense to start him at the 3 spot. Doesn't appear to be room with the Clippers, which may mean the lakers bring him back, but i could see him returning to similiar numbers of 12pts 8rbs as a starter.
