Will the ball move now that we have Bargnani or will we need to bench Shumpert and start Pablo again for ball movement instead of IS0

There will be ball movement when the coach stresses it as part of his gameplan.

We started the year with a lot of good spacing and ball movement. I think it's entirely possible as long as Woody makes it a priority. Prigs was brought back to help with that. I do also think we'll still see a lot of heavy ISO. It's just something Woody has a history of relying on. He trusts it and for the most part it's worked for him in the regular season. We just need a bit more of a better mix of ball n player movement and ISO.

Kidd was a big part of it early. He was fresh and played great. Same way Pablo was fresh late in the yr. We don't have a pg who can do it for 82 games plus playoffs

Felton was the MVP against Boston..He got into the lane constantly and created problems for Boston..Stop the madness...

This is why we absolutely MUST add a younger PG who can breakdown a defense and push the ball. We can't get it done without that change of pace PG. I fully expect them to add someone, just don't know who at this point. Really won't be hard to be faster than Felton and Prigs so...

I'm ok with Felton as a backup but we need a starter to get past the 1st or 2nd rd

Fast is cool but smarts is more important. You don't need speed in a half court set you need smart passes

ISO occurs when guys are cold hitting their open looks..Ball movement is contegious when there is a good end result..When guys can't hit their shots after good ball movement they look to Melo to save them..Its not rocket science..ISO mostly occurs when the team looses confidence in their shot..

Hes gonna be our starter. Cant see us demoting him after he started all last season. We did get past the 1st round because of him too (Rondo being injured helped of course)

Meh. I think that's a bit of a simplification. GREAT offense would involve executing ball and player movement that leads to high % baskets. If the Knicks actually pushed the ball a bit more they could get a few more easy buckets a game off early offense before the D gets fully set. With as many capable scorers as we should have this year, we've got to keep the ball moving, which we didn't do in the playoffs. We didn't get enough plays at the basket, but rather too many long or contested jumpers. It's gonna be important to add another PG who can get into the paint IMO.

That is for sure. The way the team is contracted same as last yr there will be no easy baskets. We have a half court offense. Ideally you add a pg who is fast and has pg IQ but IQ is more important. It's why Rondo is a star pg despite not being very fast

For a while Felton was the only one keeping us in the playoffs, but he isn't a first rate floor general. Unfortunately we can't afford one. Hope we can at least bring in another PG to challenge him for the starting nod. If Felton wins out and is the starter, fine by me.

Our best ball movement comes when Melo gets double teamed. We get very little penetration on drives. Our team is slow and has to work through Melo. When teams let him go one on one the ball movement stops.

Good observation. Another way to put it: we get ball movement when Melo passes the ball

Rose is not the answer.
