Id take him for the vet minimum for sure--I think he owns a home in CT--maybe hed like to play for the Knicks. Hed be good in a 15 minute role off the bench and as a mentor to the young wings

Rip needs to run through a series of screens to get his shots. We dont usually do that.
Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.

Rather sign Francisco Garcia, who can run an offense for a spell. Rip is strictly a two-guard at this stage and we already have Shump and THJ. Pass!

I don't think a Hamilton signing would be at the expense of someone else especially a guy like Garcia. The Knicks have 15 roster spots and I believe 8 players under contract counting Hardaway and Leslie.

Well he would be better than Flight White . If he wants to be 12th man and vet min --- go for it --- if not PASS

People are going to have to have realistic expectations for the bench. If Richard Hamilton is healthy--he can provide quality bench play on a limited basis and depth at 2-3. I fully agree with a youth movement ---I think we need to have 3 roster spots that focus on a youth movement Leslie Hardaway and hopefully the Knicks can find a young big man that was not drafted. The other 12 positions must be geared towards the immediate roster--even if ALL of the three young players make their way into a rotation. So we are realistically looking at 3 youngins 6 guys under contract with the need to find SIX more with only 3mm to spend but min contracts. Richard Hamilton might be a quality 10-12 guy on a team. You need to take away the necessity to play him 25 minutes and move him to spot 10-15 minute duty.

I agree. Hopefully two of the three young guys play on for the bayhawks and continue to get experience.

and at his age, with his injury history, will he have the legs to do his Reggie Miller, constant motion impression?

The Bulls would have kept him if he was worth a roster spot.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

I would not waste a roster spot on him even for the minimum.

Why would we add another 4Oyr old who has been in And out of the lineup with injuries the past 2 seasons. Brand, Kmart is one thing. Guys on their last legs like Rip, Kidd and Rasheed is another. Especially when we need a pg

He is just too old and we don't play to RIP's strengths
In my opinion, It just would not be a good fit, we already have to find a specific rotation/game plan to utilize STAT, maybe Barg's already
At his age he just does not fit in to the spread offense that Woodson likes to run with Iso heavy on Melo

We already have

Iman
Hardaway
JR might be gone

Some vet min/lower level candidates(especially if we can trade Chandler and regain 5m MLE *possibly split on 2 players*, and 2m BAE, I would rather take my chances on are

Dorrell Wright
Corey Brewer

Matt Barnes
James Johnson
Stephen Jackson
Shawne Williams

Udrih
Will Bynum

trading for

Brandon Rush
JJ Barea

Ridnour *likely cost the most in terms of assets needed while the other 2 we just need closer to salary dump*
