Pacers strong candidate to land Chris Copeland

The Indiana Pacers and New York Knicks free agent Chris Copeland have a strong mutual interest, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Copleland, 29, played his career overseas until making a successful leap to the NBA last season. Multiple teams are in pursuit of him, but the Pacers are emerging as a strong possible destination for him, sources said.

Created separate thread because this could happen soon and concerns our team somewhat

Even with Bargnani, I really hope he stays. 2 big guys that can stretch the floor like them is a really great luxury to have.

On this team, Cope has to be considered a top 5 player (if not higher)... Losing him to Indy would sting.

Badly.

Cope would be in the same situation, he'd just be getting paid more. I'm happy for him. But if Cope is getting a lot of minutes for your squad, than something has gone wrong. That was the case with us last year.

he's already been talking to the Jazz according to twitter.
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

+1. I really would love to see him stay and continue to develop in New York.

If they can resign West while adding Watson and Copeland...

George Hill/C.J. Watson
Paul George/Lance Stephenson
Danny Granger/Chris Copeland
David West/Tyler Hansbrough
Roy Hibbert/Ian Mahinmi

A better team than the one that almost made it to the finals.

I like Copeland - a good player and a team player. Since he is 29 years old and this is his best/last chance to make some real money, I hope he can sign for a good sized contract.

Copeland should fit in well with Indy if that ends up being his destination. Wouldn't mind getting him back, but I agree at this stage in his career Cope should try and get paid.

This situation should tell you all how much Woody undervalued Copeland in the series against the Pacers. I can recall when Copeland came off the bench and knocked down a 3 in game 6 and the Indiana crowd all gasped at the same time. Probably wondering how is this guy sitting on the bench when the knicks can't even score.

Game 5 he showed he was ready to play, but game 6 Woody had a brain fart.

Reggie Miller even asked the question at the end of the video.

Knicks are doing the same thing to cope that we did to lin. They have not talked to him. Watch him sign a good offer sheet and the the Knicks will be butt hurt over it and blame him.

Just makes me SMH how Grunwald didn't give this kid a team option on 2nd yr of his contract. I don't now if that is allowed, but if it is, then we need to start adding those to contracts just to cover our butts on these players that come here get developed and then wind up leaving.

I just don't understand the stupidity of not giving him a 2nd year on the contract.
Speaking of which, we signed CJ Leslie - 1 or 2 years? It was a rookie minimum contract is all I've heard.

I really want Cope back.

LOL, the Knicks been extended a "Qualifying Offer" to both Prigs and Copes already.

It's not even remotely close to what happened with Lin.
