I'm starting this thread just for discussion of the advanced metrics for the three players in the trade - that can include people who want to post more stats or comment on the stats.

Points scored/given up per 100 possessions
2012-13: 101.6/107.3
2010-11: 104.5/112.5

Win shares per 48 (league average = .100)
2012-13: .007
2010-11: .052

Wins produced per 48 (league average = .100)
2012-13: -.147
2010-11: -.126

Net on/off +/-
2012-13: -5.3
2010-11: -0.5

PER (league average = 15.00)
2012-13: 11.27
2010-11: 16.4

Ujiri probably realizes he can get better production from at least one if not more of the 3 players he'll pick with the picks we're giving up. He may get better production from Novak and/or from Camby if healthy too.

I don't have a synergy account but someone posted this.

btw FWIW (almost certainly not much in this case) – Synergy ranked Bargnani as the 26th best defender in the league last year. Lol.

He also ranked second behind Luke Sanders in the Dwight Effect study. Players FG % was 35.2 when within 5 ft of Bargs.

WP had Jason Kidd as the 2 or 3rd best pg last year and Houston was a better team with Harden off the floor statistically. What does it all mean? IDK.

I'd look at the overall pattern of stats rather than just any one stat for a player.
I'm skeptical of any stat that has Andrea as a good defensive player but I'm going to see if I can find more info. on it.

I have heard he's a good man defender and poor weakside defender.

What are you referring to by "synergy account"? Is that from this website: http://mysynergysports.com?

This is true. Good man to man defender .... help defense is below average. But this is why I think we need to keep Tyson so he's paired with a defensive center.

he was reported to be a good perimeter defender. Its when he get taken inside that guys have been able to muscle him around.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

not true if you go by the numbers

http://blogs.thescore.com/raptorblog/2012/08/18/on-bargnanis-impressive-defensive-numbers/

http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/08/17/the-inbounds-the-pierre-bargnani-defensive-mirror/

Synergy Sports ranked Bargnani in the 88th percentile in post defense on a per-possession basis, and the 56th percentile in isolation defense last season (with a gaudy 95th percentile overall). It wasn’t all Dwane Casey’s wizardry last season (though his work with Bargnani’s defense should not be ignored, but we’ll get there. In 2011, he was 47th percentile in post and 83rd percentile in isolation. 2010? 72nd percentile in the post, 28th in isolation. Bear in mind these numbers are regardless of the number of possessions, so someone that defended in the post once successfully logs in at the top of the chart. So basically, he’s even better than these numbers indicate, relative to his position.
