Boston blew it up.....

Couple things....Knicks need a real point guard that can control the ball and dictate offense. Distribute the ball and get away from the isolation stuff. So we need rondo.....A'mare needs a point guard to take the pressure of him and extend his career. Smith needs someone to take the ball handling pressure of him as well.

Boston blew it up. They need youth picks and cap space. The knicks have Shump and Novak whos salaries already match....they can throw Hardaway jr in there as well.......or they can enter Portland into thus and trade Tyson over there, and Portland would send cj mccollum to Boston. By nit trading Aldridge, Portland must be trying to win now. Tyson with Aldridge makes Alot of sense since they originally hoped Greg Ogden would be that guy. Tyson is basically the type of player they envisioned to be their center.

This is a great idea for all teams involved

There's no way we have the assets to get Rondo on our own, but including Portland makes things more interesting. I think some future 1st rounders would need to be included to get Boston's attention but I think it could be possible.

He has the reputation of being a tough guy to coach and has had problems with other players.

He is a great talent but I do not think he is a good fit.

Boston just traded Brooklyn Garnett and pierce for Gerald Wallace and picks.......like Garnett said...."anything us possible"

The Portland element does make a **** load of sense.....wish someone with influence could get this idea rolling

Would love to have Rondo! We owe him for letting us advance to the 2nd round anyway!

Don't forget he can't shoot.....dude still it's an Elle level point guard and is a winner and a gamer.....he's a leader and nit afraid to tell the coach he's wrong that's what i get from rondo. He's not afraid to get on guys teammates especially hall of famers.

I personally think rondo is a douche....so is Chris Paul. To be great you have to be that guy

Rondo is the wrong personality to lead a team.

His physical talents are one thing.

There are rumors Doc went after him. Ray was rumored to want no part of him and perhaps Doc could not bare the thought of a rebuild with him as his point.

Good points...

Still, rondo seems to be an alpha dog and the knicks need someone to be that guy on the team. We have too many complainers.

Regardless if Doc had a problem, he could not win big without him.

I don't think we have the assets to offer Boston. Our two youngest players are wings and I'm not sure that's what Boston is looking for at this point. They may want a package where we take on Bass as well and I don't see how we pull that off. That said, I agree Rondo is difficult and his presence could hurt a team's locker room. But the dude plays his butt off and I think most fans can forgive his personality the first time he drops a 10 point, 11 assist 10 rebound game against the Heat.

With Portland involved it maskes more sense.

Rondo can also drop 30-40 any given night as well....very dynamic player.

It's definitely a long shot and a pipe dream.....but you just never know

Rondo's lack of shooting makes pick and roll diluted and that takes away strength from Amare/Chandler

When have we ever been able to steal anyone. We always pay top dollar for already established talent.

Rondo is not old and just because he and Doc didn't get along doesn't mean Rondo and thye next coach wouldn't get along.

I do think Portland is the best partner in a trade scenario though. I think with future picks the Knicks could easily grab Aldridge by giving them Tyson. They want a center regardless of weather Aldridge is there or not but by shipping Tyson to Portland they would give Aldridge what he wants. I think they would give up some picks and players, if the reports are true.

Knicks:

Rondo
Wallace
Pap
Leonard/Whithey

Blaz:

Chandler
Novak
14 2nd

Celts:
McCollum
14 1st
White
Camby
Cash

Looks like the entire franchise tried to pack up and move away from Rondo, from the head coach to the core players. As others have pointed out, we don't have much to offer anyway.

No denying Rondo's talent, but it appears to come with a heavy price. He managed to alienate three future HOFers and a HOF coach. Who could keep him in check on the Knicks?

no denying Rhondo has talent but is he the right fit for our team?
I think Rhondo needs to play with 4 shooters to spread the floor and he must be the only weak link shooting wise
They must also be able to defend their positions which is very tough for the PF and C positions and still be able to shoot

With that said, I just cannot see how we can trade for Rhondo and still add the players we need

I'd love to have Rondo here. Can't see Boston helping the Knicks. But they did deal with Brooklyn and Ainge has no conscience, so maybe.
