future considerations for pick 43.

I don't know could we have spent 1-2mm + a future 2 to pick up Muscala at 43? Knicks are one arrogant organization. One tweak to Carmelos knee and we might be giving Denver Andrew Wiggins. We are clearly behind Miami Indiana Brooklyn and Chicago and its not close we have little chance to get out of rd 1 next year. We made zero effort to pick up a PG or a big using little assets yet other teams did. Oh well 44 wins and out round 1 lock it.

You're a Knicks fan. Don't you know that all Dolan cares about is $$$? As long as the Knicks are in the playoffs he's not going to do anything major.

Nothing do with anything other than the reality that we have 7 players under contract and no depth anywhere and only 3mm to spend. I thought we could recharge in this draft a bit but we took a guy we could find in the D lague and got no extra help. Thats ok 44 wins and then down from there is fine.

When you bring up D league players are you talking about someone in particular or most of the D League as a whole are more talented that Tim? This wasn't one of those epic game changing drafts. This was a spare parts draft! Teams that are looking for complementary players are gonna find good value! I would be willing to bet the teams that picked in the lottery this draft will be picking in the lottery next season! I think the Knicks did well with what they had. As for the rest of the off season I will play wait and see.

The knicks had no money to spend based on the new cba. They are allotted 3 million annually and the clock for that starts on July 1, or the 10th. I am not sure what you expected them to do. They are and have been in a compromised position. Grunwald said that he tried to get into the second round but teams didn't like his ideas.

that's why it's called future considerations. they can always agree in principle then trade officially later. I think.

I don't think they can trade future cash if they achieve the 3 mil annually but I could be wrong. I don't think Grunwald would be saying other teams didn't like his ideas if he had cash.

I think there's a reason 29 teams passed on Ricky Ledo, and why it took until round 2 pick 43 overall.

It's not just the Knicks that passed on him. Anyone remember Josh Selby. Supposedly, Knicks were hot on his trails and picked Shumpert instead. Selby has bounced around the NBA since, and is now in the D league. Word is Selby might even try out for the Knicks again.

yeah im not making a big deal about this draft...its a spare parts draft...
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better
Mavs got Ledo for nothing
