It's time people. Get a good package for Carmelo and Chandler...the time is now. Next season is going to blow anyway. I'd rather spend my time watching a core that we can build on then what we have now. We totally missed the boat on this new CBA. Can't wait till 2015 to get under the cap, and we can get some good (YOUNG) assets to build on in the meantime.

Do we really need to go down this path again? Not happening so it doesn't matter. Focus energy building with what we have. Also, teams that win 54 games don't blow it up just for the hell of it.

The Knicks should be thinking about dumping Chandler for young players ASAP. 54 wins are probably the main reason it won't happen but as of right now the Knicks are not winning any championship. Last year the Knicks did it with old players and that formula doesn't work because they break down very quickly. Amare can't be moved and Melo is money for Dolan and the Knicks.

I am starting to agree with this - but we would need to get a big guy back. You should never trade big for small. What big could we get for him who is young and has upside? Or are you thinking draft picks? I still don't see the Knicks doing it but for the long term it would make sense.

To be honest i woulld trade 54 wins for a better playoff run. After 13 years we won a playoff series but i wanted much more considering we are a win now team. I mean we almost blew a 3-0 series lead to boston who was missing arguably their best players. And the the Pacers pretty mcuh dominated us. Im not suggesting we blow up the team but if we are bounced from the playoffs early again then i think ist fair to say that amare/melo/tyson didnt work out as planned

Amare, Melo, Tyson didn't work out because Amare can't play. The Knicks don't have much leverage until 2015 when they get out of contracts and possess their own first round picks for two consecutive years.

Thats true. But even if amare was healthy i dont think it would work because of spaceing adnd the fact taht both amare and melo are offensive players with little defensive instincts

I think that we should focus on retooling around Melo as opposed to rebuilding from scratch. When you have a guy like Melo, all you really need are tweaks. If we can keep JR Smith and add a guy like Andre Igoudala for any of our assets, I think we could very well make the Conference Finals.

We really have to stop thinking about 54 wins. That ish is a mirage. This team is already not the same as last years team and we haven't even gotten started yet. Melo, Tyson, Amar'e (?), Felton, Shump, Novak, Camby (?) and a draft pick. That's not a championship core. It seems to me that you've only got 2 choices. Try to build a deep team like the Mavs or BLOW IT THE F UP!!! It's a tough sled either way. Does Grunwald have the stones to pull off a Mavs type build? I don't know, but we'll see starting tonight.

Exactly. As Knicks fans who suffered from 2000-2012 we wanted a better playoff perfomance. Yes 54 wins is nice but i wasnt satisfied with that. The Knicks played great in teh first 3 playoff games and then from that point we werent teh same. tyson jr and melo were all inconsistent

Good talent doesn't get the job done out West where teams are stacked. People tend to overlook the fact that the team knocking Melo out of the playoffs inevitably became the Western Conference champions, and more often than not, the World Champion. Give him comparable talent and he can get the job done.

Crushalot is right here. It didn't work because Amar'e isn't on the court.

It's not going to be blown up because Amar'e isn't moveable and Knicks won't win a title because they don't have LeBron. The team's a slightly competitive holder that makes money until Amar'e expires and the team gets assets back in 2015.

I agree with this. It will never happen, but I agree with it. We are a 5 seed at best going into next year (especially with the Nyets possibly pulling this trade off)

Well as down as I am at the moment you do have to recognize that the Knicks haven't done anything yet to address the roster. Until we know what Grunwald is gonna do, we can't say where the team will end up. Right now it doesn't look good, but we have to see what they're gonna do. He might have a trade up his sleeve. Who knows.

We have 7 guys under contract and 3mm to spend. Two of those guys are serious ? Camby and Amare with injuries...... We lost the depth we had last year--where do we get 8 players from ?

Nope, we will wathch him take 30 shots a game for the season, then break down from fatigue or something else. Then we iwll panic that he will leave next year and do some bullsh!t trade. We are the KNICKS for a reason.

TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!
