I was listening to Mike and Mike in the morning, and apparently Shabazz Mouhammad's stock has been falling. For those of you who don't know his story, he was a consensus top-five pick at the beginning of the NCAA season. In the middle of the year, his father gave this interview to the LA Times where he said he had groomed him to be a pro since a very young age and it just made it seem like dad wanted a payday. Then it comes out he was older than advertised, which diminished his previous accomplishments.

They said on the radio that a lot teams--even in the 20s--said they'd pass on Shabazz should he fall to them. I'm not a huge fan of his but you would have to draft him if he fell to 24, right?

Shabazz isnt falling to 24. If anyone falls it will Larkin who is 5' 11" with a 5' 11" wingspan. He is a smaller Jerryd Bayless

On projected talent alone, YES! Would he be the best compliment to Melo.. NO! I guess to answer the question, I'd draft him and groom him for the future. He could end up being the best player in this draft, UCLA didn't do him justice. Huge Upside! Just not the best fit for this NYK team.

it's a tough one because no one really likes Shabazz, especially after that article. But it seems like an overreaction. What might happen is teams fall in love with the guys on their draft board that will be available at their position and pass on Shabazz as he falls.

I pretty much think the same exact thing as you... not ideal and not a good fit but the Knicks need a supporting cast talent upgrade. He and Shumpert might make a good tandem of the future

No way he falls to us, but if by some miralce he's there, the Knicks would be foolish not to take him because he'd be the BPA by far.....Worry about where he fits in later....

hes overated and not that good but i dont think hell fall to #24 cuz ppl think hes actually good. i wouldnt be surprised if hes out of the league in 3 yrs...lol
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

+1 Don't like Muhammad at all. Only way I would draft him is if he were available in the 2nd. And this has nothing to do with the ESPN article, I just straight up don't like his game.

Yeah, the interview and the situation with his father aint helping, but let's not ignore the fact that he's got some serious holes in his game. He's gt JR Rider's game without Rider's athleticism. His passing, shooting and ball handling are all a little suspect. That said, I think he can start in this league of he puts in the work.

Isn't his d suspect, too? I think he's the kind of player who's game doesn't translate well to the nba.
