Bird is going to be team president again. Pritchard is staying in place and Walsh is stepping aside to become a consultant.

We should presume that the Pacers will get better. Bird was the original architect for this team and I suspect we'll be seeing some more shrewd acquisitions on his part. As a result, I think the ante has been upped for us.

Keep in mind Bird almost had Mayo twice for very reasonable deals. Just think if Mayo signs there

They have cap space to get a deal done if they renounce some FA's and don't extend QO's to a few and make 1 trade. So I'll call it Mayo will be a Pacer this summer as will D-12 a Rocket.

I don't expect DJ Augustin to be back.

I don't think they're going to have much cap space at all. I'm sure they're looking to resign West and his cap hold/new contract will eat up all that space. Of course, Mayo shouldn't command anything more than the MLE anyway so he could still end up there.

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

I remember hearing about that; some deal structured around Josh McRoberts and the jackass GM under Bird demanded a 1st round pick, which caused it to fall through. I do suspect they'll go after Mayo and lose Augustin but I don't see Mayo accepting a bench role. Maybe they move Granger and slide Stephenson to the bench instead.
