According to ESPN, http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/playoffs2004/news/story?id=1783131. Personally I liked the move. We need some one more creative for the playoff. The bad news was that, the article also mentioned that "Anderson will start for Houston at shooting guard", let's just hope he won't get a lot of minutes...

shandon better be on a very VERY short leash. One mistake or one blown layup he better be pulled!

good pro-active move. i dont see moochie norris as a big part of the team or on the team at all next year---maybe they believe in FW or they are showcasing him--either way it's better than Moochie

Shandon is the right choice at 2 now... I think if we have another 20 games in the season you would see Frank start there, but thatts water under the bridge. Franks is still a bit TO prone, but I do like his quickness and size on D.

I like it, but I don't understand it. I though Lenny was fond of Moochie's game. I thought it would have been Frank.

Could Isaiah have had a hand in this?

Look at the upside, Othella is finished as a knick. This year we've gotten rid of sooo many useless cogs:

McDyess
Eisley
Weatherspoon
Harrington
Layden
Chaney

This was IT's doing. Showed me once and for all that he is committed to winning! Lenny seemed like he agreed with the move, but I think he was just trying to avoid controversy. He loves Moochie and is obviously sad that he has to leave him off. WTG IT!

Frank needs minutes and confidence. Putting him on IR would have alienated him from the team at a time he is hurting.

Good move Isiah, Moochie is not taking us anywhere.

I don't care if Allan returns this year, its next year I want him 100%.

I have to admit I was shocked when I saw this article. I thought for sure Frankie would be the odd man out because of DeMarr. But Moochie.... I thought for sure he was gonna be on the playoff roster. This had to be an IT move, Lenny loves Moochie. Putting Frankie on the roster is definitely the right move though. We all know how much better the offense runs when Frankie is in the lineup instead of Moochie, and defensively Frankie helps us out more.

Whatever, man. Mooch is a vet. He's never played in a postseason game.

I bet he's pissed. I feel bad for him. But I do think it's the right move for the team.

I know, however that he'd have hit a couple big shots if he was on the roster. He has a knack for that sort of thing. Keep ya head up, Mooch.

moochie did earn his way into the backup role but it's about the bigger picture. frank could only increase his value on the playoff roster. moochie does not figure into the future of this team nor will he be used as trade bait.

but for the immediate, frank is definitely a better defender on kidd than moochie. a frank and steph backcourt could work whereas a moochie/steph would get killed.

I just hope Lenny isn't a strict with minutes in the playoffs....

I'd love to see Sweetney play especially since Baker got hurt.

The Knicks match-up well with the Nets except at the power fwd spot, but the Knicks make up for that because the Knicks have better depth.
This is all on paper of course.

I want this series so bad but in all reality....the Nets will probably win 4-1.

Timmy has to step up and average more than 15pts in this series. Penny has to emerge as a scorer and Marbury has to straight up take over on offense. Knicks just has to match their intensity cuz the Nets are some ****y dudes...they will run the Knicks out of the playoffs with their ego's alone.

I never wanted to beat a team more than the Miami Heat or the Chicago Bulls back in the days. The Knicks can't punk out now.

Good move for this year, even better move for next year.

Knick backcourt of the future (precluding any more moves by Isiah) ought to be Frank and Marbs anyway. Allan Houston and Stephon Marbury should share the minutes at SG next year. At this point, we can't really count on more than 50 games a year from Allan.

Frank should get all the backup PG minutes as well as the minutes he is PG with eiter Marbs or Houston in the game. Shandon gets left out unless we need his <cough> defense, or when Houston is injured.

Penny and Dermarr at the three. Moochie starts the year on IL, and gets activated when Allan goes on the IL.

Harrinton and Trybanski gone.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

It's unanimous. I'm happy and surprised by this move too.

What I find a little odd is some posters insinuating that this is IT's move as this that's a surprise. Of course it's IT's move. It's his job to decide personnel, Lenny's to make best use of who he's got. IT isn't overstepping by setting the playoff roster. That's what he's paid to do.

still feeling giddy about this move a day after! IT's best transaction as Knicks GM no doubt!

To make room for Allan Houston on the playoff roster, the Knicks deactivated Moochie Norris in a surprise.

It was expected DerMarr Johnson would be kept on the playoff roster in sacrifice of a point guard, but Norris had been playing more than Frank Williams, who left the team for three weeks after his mother died.

Knicks brass wanted Williams for his defense against Kidd and tall backup Zoran Planicic.

"I wanted to make sure we can match up," Lenny Wilkens said. "Frank is big enough, strong enough."

Norris was the hero in New Orleans Monday and spoke afterward about how he was obsessed with making his playoff debut.
