Now he's done this before in hypocritical fashion where he blocks the Lakers/Rockets/Hornets deal because it didn't benefit the Hornets(citing "FOR BASKETBALL REASONS")...knowing he was trying to gift Benson the new owner, although they(the NBA) had full ownership at the time.

So that would be like colluding to make a deal favorable for an organization... where all outside parties aren't privy to impact decision. That deal had been agreed to according to Dell Demps, who looked like peon fall guy GM at the time.

Now he wants to block the Clips/Celts trade because he feels it's a prearranged packaged deal? Wait a second...the Clips discussed acquiring Garnett mid-season. Which was Jordan and Bledsoe for Garnett. So that part of the deal was real, has always been. Now it's Jordan and 2 1st for Garnett, not much difference.

As far as Doc Rivers is concerned...he has said before he doesn't want to rebuild. He had reservation of returning last year if they didn't re-sign Garnett(who was thinking of retiring as was Duncan). So he easily could have quit this summer and been hired by the Clips no problem. Agent could have contacted the Clippers in the background without anyone's knowledge.

So is Stern suggesting the Clips are surrendering a 1st rounder in efforts to land Doc as compensation, when they really want Bledsoe still?

Stern also gift Cleveland 2 #1 picks in 3yrs post Lebron and he has the gall to question other teams business?

Don't get me wrong we know the Clips/Celts are talking about many things(they probably aught not) but let's cut the crap Stern.

Feb 2014 can't come soon enough. I can't stand his double standard ways. The same Commish who allowed the Celtics/Sota(Ainge/Mchale) deal and Lakers/Grizz deal to help both teams become relevant simultaneously.

Well what they're doing is obviously against the rules. The real question is whether they can get away with it.

I think this has an outside shot of leading to an expansion in the next CBA that you can also trade coaches.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Stern was also on Steven A Smith today and was talking about it also. I don't think he's going to allow both the coach switch and the trade.

wow, when I made a thread months back hating on Stern, I got bashed by the multitudes. This dude may have helped take the NBA global but, he's also responsible for the watering down of the NBA with too many expansion teams and now he wants to add 2more.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

They are colluding of sorts. Forget the "Conspiracy" stuff, its about bribing a team with picks to release a coach. You can't trade for a coach. Is Garnett for Jordan and two no. 1 picks "reasonable", of course not. Does it also include Boston making a promise to release Pierce so he can join LA? Are they compensating the celtics to do this?

If so, then they are not in the spirit of the CBA and in that Narrow focus Stern, or Silver has cause.

My feeling is they have to compartmentalize the details of the deal and present it in such a fashion that it is in fact not in violation.

What would be Sterns "angle" to cancel this trade otherwise? Who profits from it being blocked?

And BTW, get used to the idea of Seattle getting a team. Why? Because the owners vote on it, not stern. Owners stand to get nearly 20million a piece from it. Stern can recommend things. He was strongly for Kings to stay in Sac. Relocation is bad for business! OKC got hijacked but there were no local owners willing to step up and keep it in seattle. It was unofortunate and stern regrets it.

Look, I hate the little shyte as well but he is often not to blame as he works for the owners, not against them.

CBA inhibits what knicks can do but its not like we exactly excelled under the old rules either!

Why didn't he meddle when Ainge and Mchale made a sweetheart deal?

Why didn't he meddle when Shaq left L.A. and Kobe/Lakers were floundering from the sex scandal so Memphis decided to help them out with Gasol trade? Wasn't West GM of the Grizzlies at that time?

He picks and chooses when to enforce the law and when not to when it serves HIS overall interests. I have a theory as to why he's bo guarding this trade.

I don't see a problem with Doc Rivers wanting to leave if Boston starts rebuilding. That's his own business. And it's not like Clippers are asking for Doc Rivers as a trade piece. They're interested in him as a coach, but trade or no trade, they can still acquire Doc.

What reason could he have had to meddle with the KG and Gasol trades? What rules were being broken that he could have enforced? Do you have any examples of him ignoring rules in favor of certain teams?

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come
