White, Richardson (both contracts non guarenteed, cash, and future 2nd round pick for Jared Dudley. Dudley will definitely be shopped this summer as PHX is in full rebuild mode and will want to save money and acquire additional compensation. Dudley is a perfect fit next to Melo at the 3. He is big enough to guard both forward positions when needed, is a strong defender, low mistake player, and can knock down the 3 at a consistent rate. I could be completely wrong, but i don't believe PHX can net a first round pick for him, so would trade him in a salary dump if they could bring back cash and maybe a 2nd round pick in the future.

If Phx is hot/was hot for Shumpert explain to yourself why they would do this deal? Then ask yourself can 29 other teams beat this deal?

Its not a matter of if 28 teams can beat the deal, its if they will or would want to. No one is crazy about bringing on 3 extra years salary for a role player unless they are an ideal fit. And in addition, no one will trade a draft pick, or any player with any real upside. PHX wants to dump salary unless they get back a prospect, and no one is trading a Shumpert-type prospect for him. I could be wrong, but just seems like a salary dump candidate this summer. Non-guaranteed contracts and cash seem like the best they will get.

Phx can do better is what I'm getting at, they could easily hold on to him until trade deadline time. Sorry the deal is trash as constituted. Not to mention what 2nd rounder would you be sending them?

2023, 2035, 2052 which yr? We're low on assets and it would have to be something worth their while. You're not planning on us being a bad team right?

Dudley is not a strong defender anymore. Dudley is out unless you take back a bad contract. Delfino, dunleavy, & Garcia are more likely option. Even they are stretches with the money available but Delfino is close with Prigs and is a vet min maybe mmle type.

Although I like a good pseudo trade/ mock trade.. I've gotta ask.. why make a trade like this when you can sign Stephen Jackson or some other guard for the veterans minimum? Moreover, both of those Knicks players would have to be resigned in order to complete that trade.. kinda hustlin backwards imo

So a pick in the 52-60 range...that might just get it done.

They are on non guaranteed contracts, so that is not true. Grunnie structured their deals like this to use as trade bait, which is very smart, and will get us a good player this summer most likely.

Ummmm partially incorrect as it relates to the contract of James White (Which would most likely be included as a trade filler)... QRich is indeed a free agent. He would need to be resigned and dealt. Even still, there wouldn't be much motivation for Phoenix to make that deal.. nor should there be incentive for NYK, primarily because we'd be millions more over the cap. Wouldn't be prudent! Not to mention, Stak5 is better than Dudley.. and may come cheaper!!!!

I've noticed the same thing. QRich was amnestied by Orlando and ESPN still shows that instead of the minimum that we signed him for.
