I've kind of felt that Sheed retired for the good of the team, so we could sign someone in his "stead" but I wouldn't be surprised considering the bond he obviously has with Woodson, and the positive effect he had on the team if he makes another comeback next year. Is that realistic, or is his ship sailed?
I could even imagine him coming in as a defensive coach of some kind if he can't play.

I really wouldn't use a roster spot on him

We already wasted a roster spot on him last season, do you really want to do it again?

Certainly cannot see Woodson asking him again, not in his year he has to prove he can earn the rights to his third year.

my heart is so warm and fuzzy with all the special bonds we have,

the old players who have helped us reach such great heights last season--- kidd, sheed, camby,

in a perfect world, we would have all of these guys until they are 80 years old, because of the warm bonds that help us so much

Sheed was effective in the minutes he played, unlike Camby who has been a waste of bench space and cap space.

Sheed Broke down. Its simple really. He came out of retirement. He broke down when he retired last time, and now he knows he is done.

He gave it a great effort and a great team guy. He was a jerk his first few years in the league but really grew into a professional.

Camby turned back the clock but he turned it back too far into the fragile Camby. His last few years were quite good and he was durable. Last season he was a disaster for us.

Kidd broke down as the season went on. It happens. Father time is a bitch.

We were the oldest team in the history of the NBA. Kurt, Sheed, Kidd, camby all broke down.

Camby wasn't used when we needed him the most. HE WASN'T INJURED IN THE PLAYOFFS AGAINST THE PACERS

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Not sure if Sheed could hold up. He also appeared to put on a lot of weight from December to April. I wouldn't mind Sheed on the roster. He contributed and was credited by the young guys as helping them with their games. Baron is another guy that I wonder about going into next season.
