Melo- Too selfish

Tyson- goes to the media to voice his concerns

Felton- Not good enough, not vocal enough

Amare- Always hurt

shump- not his pesonality, not good enough

JR - he'll lead you to the Hottest clubs in NY, he's not focus (like sanchez)

Kmart- just trying to fit in and play his role

I though in the beginning of last season, kidd and Sheed did a good job regulating the locker room, they got JR to embrace his role, got melo to play unselfish, gave cope a lot support, and also lead by example off and on the court despite not being the best players.

We had no leadership came playoffs and it showed..Jr partying every night, melo playing hero ball, cope not playing at all, kidd playing the worst stretch of his 19 yr career and looking tired as hell.

If we don't have a leader, then we surely best to have a very unselfish group of players on both ends.

Coming into the 2011/2012 season we had our own version of the BIG 3, With TYSON and Amare having solid leadership Qualities, now we have no one on the roster that will fill that void.

Apparently it's Woodson, the team overachieved by a massive number.

Melo is clearly the leader.
In the US, "leader" is often a a glorified term but it really just means that you lead or guide in a direction and others follow. Marbury and MJ were both leaders. They just led in very different ways. Melo is ours.

melo is the nominal leader,

but we do not have a real Leader anywhere on the roster or the coaching staff, this is why we flounder like the fish

Kenyon Martin will be the leader if he comes back. He's the only one with the I don't give a "F" attitude and a willingness to get in anyone's face, even teammates. Sheed WAS the leader (even when riding the pine)

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

that doesn't make you a leader, it often makes you a fool.. The dumb foul, the borderline flagrants and his lack of developing any type move, shot or game, pretty much tells me he isn't a leader. Leaders lead, not act like tough guys.. leaders are tough and you don't have to scowl and act a fool to show toughness.

But, when the players respect you and your work, it makes you a Leader. And just because you are cut from a different moral fiber doesn't make it true. Many players including Shump said they were learning a lot from him, that he was always in their heads and this team was playing its BEST before Sheeds injury. He was like a 2nd coach on the floor and you could see guys deferring to him on the bench.

TK, why do you feel the need to inject some moral issue in these threads. Few of our basketball hero's are moral paragons.

Not enough information to say who is or is not a leader.

bill russell was asked what was the main thing about a leader and he responded that a real leader must be a great servant, ie he must make it his main function to serve others, play for others.
knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

where do you see me injecting moral issues.. mine are basketball here..ill timed flagrant fouls, not developing your game, tough guy act on the court.. where are any of these moral issues and not basketball issues?

Our clear cut Leader is now coaching the Nets.
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

Kidd was dfntly a leader, and when he fell off in the playoffs so did the rest of the team.

I just can't remember one single championship team that didn't have a clear cut LEADER..

Sheeds impact was so key, even had melo doing the 3 to the head thing after every made 3 pointer.
Kidd kept telling melo to move the ball (early in the season) how much of an impact he had on felton, priggs..

Great teams have leaders, good teams play unselfish, the teams that do neither look like the knicks did in the playoffs this yr, the teams that do both end up playing for a title..

If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

I really don't buy into that leader stuff...I think there are guys who assume the lead role in an important situation...I think there are leaders in some cases but not all cases...Yesterday's game had more leaders...I don't think there are many leaders today..Bron isn't a leader..He assumes the lead role...Parker isn't a leader, he assumes the lead role...Kidd wasn't a leader on the Knicks..

Labron isn't a LEADER??? are you kidding me, thats like saying kobe isn't a leader.

Duncun (who's leadership is similar to EWINGS) is the lead man on the spurs, not parker or ginobli.

Name me one team in the last 20 yrs that won a title with out a leader
