David Aldridge on Scott Skiles, coach of the Bulls:
"Skiles has carte blanche from GM John Paxson to make this team tougher, so he was able to bench Tyson Chandler for having his uniform untucked, verbally diss Eddy Curry at every opportunity for being out of shape and keep Jamal Crawford's butt glued to the bench when he didn't play D. On Skiles's word, Curry or Crawford -- maybe both -- will be dealt this summer."

Fantastic. Nobody on the Knicks play defense either. I'd give Chicago Kurt Thomas, Nazr Mohammed, and all of the other hard-nosed players to get those two studs in Chicago. IThomas should send a memo to Shandon Anderson that all he wants when he's in the games vs. the Nets are him diving for loose balls and going for rebounds with reckless abandon, then send a tape of these highlights to Paxson.

Seriously, whatever it takes minus Marbury to get Curry and Crawford. That package mixed with a possible Stro Swift for the MLE, and the Knicks would get younger and more athletic. All they would need is a coach to give them an identity and mold them together they'd be set.

Since aguire did wonders with sweet, I'd gladly take on chance on curry.

Skiles is a moron. He acts like he actually won something as a coach. The bravado is amazing considering he has nothing to back him up to the players. He acts like he is Riley or JVG when he can't even carry either one's jock.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Both Curry & Crawford come with great tools but some serious questions re: basketball IQ, work ethic, etc. Curry's worth the risk because you can't come up with big men w/o taking risks. And he could easily turn into one of the top 5 centers in the league. I'd trade anyone on the team but Steph for him, even Sweets if we had to.

I wouldn't give up much for Crawford. We've all seen players like him before. Incredibly talented, they'll drop 50 one night, avg. in the 20's, but shoot under 40% and never play for a winning team. He's like Iverson w/o the heart. Maybe you get lucky and he learns to stop taking bad shots. But good shooting guards aren't that hard to come by. Unless he comes cheap, wouldn't take the risk on him.

All of us who play know how devastating for your team it is to have a gunner taking lots of ill-advised shots. Everyone else stops cutting, because they don't think they'll get the ball even if they get open. Then, when they finally get the rock, they shoot because they feel they'll never see it again. They say good passing is contagious. Guess that's true. But I think bad shot selection is even more catching.

If the Bulls pick high in the draft, then Skiles should be replaced before the training camp begins.

Curry and Crawford.....with Marbury Swift and Tim Thomas....Can you dig it? That is a highly athletic starting five. Marbury would average like 5pts and 20 assists with a team like that. Every time down the court he would be forced to throw an alley oop to someone. It just wouldn't be fair.

It's impossible for the Knicks to get both unless the Knicks get a third team that's willing to help the Knicks along with taking on Eddie Robinson and Antonio Davis. I just can't picture it happening.

I could see Swift coming to NY, but I would think he's want more than the 5 mil exemption. The guys stats are scary. 19 mins, 1.54 blks, 4.9 rebs, 9.4 pts. In NY he'd get in the high 30's in minutes so those numbers could double.

I wanna see Marbury's face after Swift flings one of his hammers down at the Garden.

Still.....Crawford and Curry.....the Bulls would have to be pretty dumb to give both to the Knicks.
