that was changed in the last CBA. I believe teams now have the ability to do that every other year as small market clubs kept dumping assets to, well, the Knicks

we have the mini mle but the lle is for team under the tax it's called bae now.

we can't do sign and trade because we are over the tax apron, the trade if done must take the knicks under the apron and then it forces a hard cap to the apron, can't exceed it to fill the roster.

Could the trade exception be parlayed for cash incentives only? If so, would we be able to trade the incoming cash for draft picks and maintain an additional $3 million of our own money to include in potential deals?

We could probably trade it for cash but I'm not sure. Regardless, we're only allowed to trade a maximum of $3M a year even if we receive cash from another team.

I dont care who they draft as long as we get a serviceable player. Muscala seems like he will get pushed around on the block.

He has his weaknesses and would need to gain weight but is an NBA ready player with reasonable upside. See the thread on him. Also, he is just an example but there will be plenty of rotation players available which is why we need to do our best to get another pick.
