After rewatching film on the pacers series and seeing how they called it. It was totally advantage pacers for some reason almost every time we drove there was body contact and no whistle.. And when they drove with the same contact the whistle was blown... And if you look back you'll see what I'm talking about. now watching the ECf and it's even worse. Is there a fix? It wouldn't be the first time and with economic times it won't be the last

Post on a non-Knicks forum if you want a fair evaluation of the refs in Knicks' games.
I haven't watched the ECF very closely but what I have watched has seem fair.

Its been awful and I can't say the Knicks were/are the only victims. Watched the Spurs/Grizz and the officiating was awful. Miami/Indi has been so bad that they dedicated a whole 1/2hour of GameTime on it this morning.
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

I would not say fishy, as much as inconsistent/atrocious. It's not just the Knicks games. A lot of games, you have to question what's going on. The big problem is that in the NBA, the refs have more control than in any other sport. There are so many minute rules that are judgment calls, that it can be pushed very easily on very minor things. Meanwhile, there have been some blatantly bad calls. I am not impressed by the officiating, but at the same time, they have a very difficult job to do and some of the calls really could go either way because it's not definitive. I would like to have some of the judgment calls removed from the game because they are simply too controversial and give the refs too much power. In addition, the criteria for getting technicals, especially in the playoffs, is absurd. If a guy grimaces, technical. Give me a f***ing break. That's pathetic. Then one more technical or flagrant and they're tossed? That's absurd. Nazr pushes LeBron after he got pulled to the floor and LeBron flops, so Nazr is ejected? Ridiculous.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

NBA refs are the worst in pro sports. i don't know if they're good enough to begin with to dictate who comes out on top. The league has always been a stars league. You have more stars you get more calls.

I do think the league office is bush league though. Dwayne Wade should have been suspended a game, especially when they suspended Knicks for having a friggin foot on the line

I really can't believe this statement. The refs have been an absolute embarrassment to the sport plain and simple! This goes deeper then the Knicks series, because all of them have been bad! I don't know what seems fair about this?

Can you be more specific? Are you saying one of the teams has benefited or just that the refs are awful and you could step in and do a better job? I'm always amazed by how easy many fans think it is to ref basketball, especially NBA basketball.

I think he may have meant that there isnt any obvious bias toward one team. I'd have to agree with him on that
Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.

It's been bad for both sides imo, clearly making the NBA look scripted.

It's been brutal across the board. Too many refs are too involved in the outcome of to many games. I could honestly say that there has only been a handful of games this post season where I didn't think much about the officiating.

IMO. When it comes to bad officiating, I don't think the NFL, MLB and NHL come close.

My problem is with a complete lack of consistency within games or by the league. Lebrons moving screen that play happens at least 10 times a game with no call and then its called then at the end of a 4 point game. Dwanye Wade should of absolutely been suspended as his elbow was far worse then what JR Smith did but nothing.

Here are a few things worth thinking about:
http://www.realclearsports.com/articles/2011/04/21/why_nba_officials_get_too_much_blame_97286.html
The Wall Street Journal did a couple studies in the past two years and determined that on average, an NFL game contains 11 minutes of action and an MLB game 14 minutes. These obviously pale in comparison to the 48 minutes of action in an NBA game. With that much more playing time there are bound to be more whistles and more plays for fans to gripe about.

The author also discusses that if there are about 10 runs scored in a baseball game (and even fewer in hockey) and 200 points in a basketball game, you'd expect erroneous calls that impact the score of the game to occur twenty times as often in basketball as in baseball. I think people have no idea how hard it is to ref basketball in general and the NBA in particular.

I agree at times. That shot clock violation in game 4 the other night was a horrible blown call that could have cost the Pacers the game. I thought the Bulls were victimized some and I think tonight the officiating will be one sided. I have seen a lot of contact with intent that I thought was as bad or worse then what JR did but there have not been suspensions or even ejections for it.

Hey, maybe when you have to ignore the urge to call all the carrying going on, it's just a slippery slope from there in terms of the arbitrariness of the calls.

Its mind boggling bad and not just from a Knicks perspective.

Owners really need to band together and get at Stern or Silver (or is it silva) this off season and demand they improve the officiating.

When Naz gets kicked out and t'd up for pushing fouling LBJ and then pushing him shouldn't the same thing happen Birdman when he does it to Hansbrough. As someone said earlier, it is too arbitrary.

And Wade came onto the court. He should be suspended too
