I know you never win when going up against the media because they have a 24/7 news cycle & the seemingly never ending horde of us who suck every stupid word they write or utter on cable but has any team ever tried a total media blackout??? Now officially you cant block them completely from the locker rooms because the league has rules about that but what about a 5 answer script Basically a "Yes" / "No" / "both teams played hard" kind of deal. It would only really work if they played fantastic ball & unanimously stuck to the script but it would be great to expose the media for what it is a bunch of opinionated hacks with NO real sources or insight into the game. I really think if one team pulled this off the rest would quickly follow suit & the game would benefit greatly. I mean seriously wouldnt the world be much better off w/o Screamin A Smith & Skip Gutless???

I was really annoyed with Begley yesterday. He wrote two anti-Knick articles. One was critizing the roster and was based on comments PJax made 11 months ago when he wasn't even contacted about the Knicks coaching job. The other was on Vogel when he was deflecting criticism and claimed the heat had a more intelligent approach to handling Hibbert. No mention of the depth or difference in rosters. Knicks aren't bringing Battier, Ray Allen and Mike Miller off the bench to spread the floor. Sorry but Cope and Novak aren't those guys. Can't imagine Cope committing an offensive foul on Hibbert that was so hard that the announcers were wondering if it would be called flagrant. The Heat bring top 7 or lower lottery picks off their bench. The Knicks bring undrafted guys off their bench and still are successful. The guy covers this team full time. It is really hard to read and hear some of the ish he writes and says about the Knicks.

Stephen A makes The Answer Man laugh.

ActionJackson - 80 per cent of what is written and said is entertainment. Not journalism.

The Dolan's fuel media resentment by making it more difficult to talk to their employees. Resentment? Absolutely. Most writers either covet the lifestyle or feel most players are undeserving of their riches and fane. Compound that with a of lockdown of free speech that will never engender affection among the (cough) working press. Ever notive the avalanche of articles when the Knicks lose?

It's open season and the press salivates at any juicy rumor. The trade deadline is an annual speculation festival, so much so that Knicks players tighten up and always play poorly leading into February. Always.

It's like that. And that's the way it is.
