he does a good job summing up the season for a significant part of the knick fanbase.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

What trash. This article is more about the writer than about the Knicks.

What a joke...Really??..We have more thought provoking discussions at UK..What a clown of a writer..I could show you at least 4 threads I started about the reservations about signing Kidd, KT and Camby..I don't need to gloat about it, "if I was right or wrong"...Knicks lost end of story...And it's posted as if it's some sort of revaluation...Thanks for your contribution...

It's not just Kidd, KT, and Camby, though. That's just a distraction. Our big three have now completed thirty-two seasons. Only 1 of our 15 players is below the league average in age, actually. Age-wise, we have the most unbalanced roster in the league.

I disagree, the big problem is Amare when u get right down to it...A vet player can contribute, old/hurt players can't...

But a vet is more likely to be old/hurt. It's not either/or. I'm sure Melo and the rest of the players would have recovered more quickly from many of their injuries if they were 23.

Melo might recover from shoulder surgery quicker but he has a tear. I don't know that his age factors into the recovery from that injury. He also might have recovered quicker if he didn't have to cover David West.

He has a partial tear that probably will not require surgery.

When he was younger, he contributed more in other facets of the game also (rebounds, assists, etc.) and that would have been helpful this post-season too.

Players are always injured or play hurt in the NBA, not matter the age...Some young players can't play thru injury either..It's a case by case basis..Lin couldn't come back injury in New York and Houston...Melo played thru a shoulder tear and probably played his best game of the playoffs against Indy..

Young player can get injured.
Older players are more likely to get injured and take longer to recover.

Those two statements are not incompatible. You seemed aware of that when we were discussing Kidd, KT, and Camby but now seem to have forgotten.

Apparently there are conflicting reports. This is from SI on the same day as the USA Today article.

My guess is they try therapy and rest first. I also think there is a good chance that it doesn't work and he needs the surgery. Hopefully he can heal without having surgery.

No, you're the only one who singled out KT, Kidd, and Camby. I'm including everyone. See above. It's not the case that age is irrelevant until you reach the Kidd/Camby/KT age.

History will show you that vets play for the ring...Not inexperienced players...

Great; let's get some more 40 year olds!

Well Bonn, you are trying include Carmelo in the KT, Kidd and Camby discussion which is just silly...

No, you're the only one who singled out KT, Kidd, and Camby. I'm including everyone. See above. It's not the case that age is irrelevant until you reach the Kidd/Camby/KT age.

The author wrote about KT, Kidd, Camby, Sheed and Amare. This is about the I told you so article right?

We were several replies into our own conversation and it looked like Holfresh was focused on my views.
