It's the supporting cast's faultIf we just took Amare's $ (5th highest in the entire league) and used it to sign a star or a few other players we would be a much better team and not so reliant on Melo and JR to keep hitting crazy shots to have a shot at winning games.
Getting Amare was money well spent. If we didn't get Amare, I am pretty sure we would've been going through more lean years. For more than 10 years, no one wanted to touch this team, and I didn't blame then. Amare open the door for other free agents to come here and play.
I wasn't saying that getting Amare was a bad move or that the logic in going out and signing him was flawed. We gambled on him staying healthy. He hasn't.
What I was saying is that it's hard for a team to lose their 2nd best player and then still go out and win a playoff series, even with good coaching, etc.
People are looking at OKC and point at Scott Brook's offense being too simple, guys like Kevin Martin and Ibaka not stepping up, etc etc. Some of them may have valid points on all that stuff.
But the simplest reason why they may not advance to the WCF might just be that their 2nd best player has a torn meniscus.
Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please
