I think Melo is the cause of all his issues. He should have not helped his team get to the playoffs for 2 straight years so Denver could collect high lottery picks to add to the core. Instead, Denver was stuck with low first rounders to build around.

Durant did it smart. He didn't get his team to the playoffs his first 2 years in the NBA allowing OKC to draft Russell Westbrook and James Harden.

If he had just simply not been good enough to get his team anywhere those 2 years he might have gotten to play with Dwight Howard and Chris Paul/Deron Williams.

He comes here and leads this team to the 2nd seed in the East when really we needed a high lottery pick.

Melo was/is too proficient for his own good.

Broken logic. Nobody never said Melo is not great. He is. He's just not the superstar we need him to be. Not necessarily his fault. He is what he is. A prolific scorer.

Yup. Melo is a great scorer. He just needs another very good player to be successful. Emptying the cubbard to get Melo really put this team in a bind.

You might also note that Melo went with "Coming Home" party theme instead of "The Decision" theme, where he might have been able to starphucque with real stars instead of second tier glass punchers and DPOY Offensive geniuses.

And we are seeing just how great Mr. OKC Efficiency is without both of those draft picks when it counts, aint we?

So the NBA only has one superstar. Lebron James?

Getting to the playoffs every year isn't being successful? Come on now. Knicks made it to the 2nd seed on Melo's back.

Oh and our cubbard and a can of pork and beans and vienna sausages.

No, there's
Durant (on his way out of the playoffs)
CP3 (out of the playoffs)
Dwight Howard (out of the playoffs)
Deron Williams (out of the playoffs)

Those are the true superstars!

Sometimes it seems like had we chose to give up Fields instead of Gallinari then people would have been more open minded about Melo going in. I dont get it...

I don't like pork and beans but love vienna sausages. I also like Spam and Corned Beef Hash.

Another way to look at it:

Having a guy who gets paid $20MM with no kness is what's putting this team in a bind.

Take Amare's $ and give it to a few solid role players or to someone who actually deserves that kind of money and we smack the Pacers around.

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

I posted something like this another thread ... Melo has been just about one of the few players that led his team to the playoffs every single year since being drafted. Before he was drafted Denver haven't seen a playoff series in 8 years. Did not receive a draft pick before No. 20 ... Only 2 good picks they had was Jameer Nelson and Jarret Jack.

yes we are:
KD in semis (minus his running buddy):
31ppg 11rebs 7assists 1 block shooting 46%
Melo in semis:
26ppg 8.5rebs 1.5assists 41%

Makes sense as KD is better in every way, so the #s reflect that. Sorry.. what were we talking about?

I guess this year's superstars are Hibbert, Paul George, Zack Randolph, Andrew Bogut and Mike Connely. Thats the great thing about the playoffs... its a time when a guy can elevate and take his game to the next level. One thing you can count on though is that Melo wont be in that group. Sucks. I wish I was wrong.

Too elite indeed.

Only superstar in the league is Lebron. At this point, as good as KD is, I don't have them in the same category. He has officially put himself on a level of MJ as far a play ... still have have a lot of winning to do though.

Melo seems to get all the credit for winning the division and leading us to the playoffs. None of the blame when we are getting pimp slapped.

Superstars get bounced from the playoffs all the time. In my view this series is not on Melo at all. He has been our best player. But he has not played anywhere close to a superstar.

I just hope that people will like me

I'm sure all these teams are dying to trade these guys after the post season failures just like us trying to trade Melo. It's unreal.

Thing is, all these other teams have better younger talent surrounding their best player. We have a bunch of players eligible for Medicare.

Our core players Chandler, Shumpert, Felton, and in some ways Stoudemire are not old. The only old players we have are ones that were designed to fill out the roster with veteran play, but none of those players are part of our core. Who cares if our 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th guys need to retire. They are all 10-15 mpg guys if they play at all.
