Not if. What he said.

“I take the blame for this whole series. I’ve been letting my teammates down, I’ve been letting my coaches down, and it doesn’t feel good.”

- Earl Smith Jr.

Confidence is a terrible thing to waste.

At this moment, Smith feels terrible about his role in the outcome. Already fragile, can this young man regain his rhythm and confidence, or has he lost his mojo forever?

Of course not....The anti-Melo crew already laid down the gauntlet and said "If we dont get to the ECF, its on Melo's shoulders." Its all right there in black-n-white....
It doesn't matter that JR is taking responsibility
it doesn't matter that we had 4 guys drop a donut in last nights game
it doesn't matter that we were outrebounded by 18
it doesn't matter that the Pacers scored over 17 pts on offensive rebounds (how much did we lose by again?)
it doesn't matter that we double team ever Pacer within ten feet of the basket (including Mahimi WTF) leaving the guards wide open for 3's
it doesn't matter that we were the best 3 point shooting team in the league all season and our best 3 point shooter continues to collect splinters on the bench.

Its still all Melo's fault.......The anti Melo crew aint having it......

I give him credit for putting it on him and not trying to point the finger at others. However, what will he do about it. Will he continue to pout after a miss or will he attack, pass, and play hard nose D?

No way does Phil Jackson come here. He needs a championship ready team.....BTW, this is not all on Woodson, nor is it all on Melo or JR. There are many holes in the damn that need to be plugged, one person can do by himself. All Hands On Deck!!!!!!

JRs been pissing me off but I really do hate seeing him so down on himself. Like it or not he was a huge part of how we got here and i'd hate to see him go out like this.
Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.

PUT...THE...BALL...IN...THE...EFFING...HOLE...JUNIOR

That's all that needs to be done. It will say everything.

When things are running as they can and should be, we are better than this team.

JR has had one of the worst playoff performances in Knick history. Seriously, can anyone think of another Knick having such a prolonged spell of disaster?! From his abysmal shooting and elbowing suspension to his partying to coming down with the flu. Never seen a player unravel and undo everything they accomplished in the season. That sixth man award was the kiss of death- it's like he couldn't handle the success. Can't believe this is the same player who posted 30+ points in the winning streak.

How many millions of dollars has he played his way out of? He was looking at maybe $7 or $8 mil per year- now he's looking at $3mil. Just been awful to watch.

NBA players talk all the time.

Who cares, the dude threw the Elbow and team is 2-5.

JR will assume responsability when he thinks of opting out.

Right when the season started, you had some posters say, "ECF or Bust." Regardless of how the games were played out. Pretty much, if we didn't at least advance to the ECF, then the trade for Melo was a bust......Those posters know who they are.....
