He has the more experience players, the star player, the shooters, and can't press the right buttons.

The pacers should be trying to match us, instead were trying to match them, thats the first sign of defeat. Sloppy rotations and the lack of an offensive plan B or C..

They made you take prigs out of your starting line up, they made you sit novak and copeland for their defensive liabilities, turned the pace of the game into a slow down big man game..

made You double the post no matter what big got the ball leaving shooters wide open..

Mean while indi has made the proper small adjustments, and seemingly have the knicks playing right into there hands..

Woodson has not shown that he is ready for this level. Where were the adjustments for this game?! We ran the same stupid iso play and off-balance fade-aways. On the rare occasion we mistakenly found ourselves in a crazy pick-and-roll play, lo and behold it worked! Will wonders never cease. Fundamental ball does actually pay off.

It really pissed me off how ill-prepared we were offensively for this game.

We should be playing similar defense to Indy.....Play your man straight up, without doubling. If one of their players go off, so be it. At least their entire teams doesn't build momentum and confidence. Thats how good defensive teams play us....Play melo one on one, and if he goes off, so what. Because one on one defense shuts down roll players like Novak and Copeland.

But instead Woodson likes to spend a lot of energy doubling everybody, which gets our defense out of sinc. And adds to more tired legs on those jumpshots.

Woodson going away from what got the Knicks the second seed tonight was a big mistake. He needs to play Prigs and go with the two point guard line up. I don't think that wins tonight but I do think it was and is the best lineup for the Knicks. I also think the Knicks don't have as much talent as some here. I think Woodson has gotten more out of this team then most could.

I think some of the former Knicks should perform a Drop Squad to get Cope and Prigs more playing time.

Indy isn't really shooting a high percentage or playing very well offensively. The Knicks on paper had more offensive firepower, but have massively underperformed on the offensive end. Today we did the correct thing and were shooting the open jumper off the pick and roll, but man we just missed jumper after jumper. We made those shots all year. JR may not be a high percentage shooter, but he makes a lot of those open J's....

I'm gonna say that this was something many of us were worried about and it's not just an "I Told You So" moment. It's really upsetting to see the Coach not being what many thought he was. There's no depth to Woody's coaching. He simply doesn't show the ability to do battle with other top coaches on this level. I know some were giving Woody credit for beating the Celtics, but I wasn't that impressed and was bashed for saying it. If Doc had just a little more to work with he would've beaten Woody.

Now Vogel had totally embarrassed Woody. He's EXPOSED Woody's lack of preparation and inability to adjust. I can only hope to God that somehow Woody can step up to the plate and show me he's got the skills to save this season, but I have my doubts, since we haven't seen any sign of it so far. DAMN

Woodson cant help that JR Smith shoots 5-20 and that multiple players shoot goose eggs--this team is not that good once Kidd fell off the page. I dont think its the coach.

i recall reading an article which featured video highlights demonstrating Woody's very unique switching concepts which the author thought were revolutionary; or at least very unique.

what i've noticed, during this series, is that the constant doubling, switching, and the scrambling that results, leaves this team prone to giving up long offensive rebounds. it appears Vogel has given his guys the green light to shoot more threes than usual knowing that second chance points will be easier to get off of those misses. if Woody is going to adjust, first thing he has to do is tell his defenders to stay at home. that's the minimum.

Woody's defensive scheme is killing us. it's forcing first shot misses, but giving up frequent second chance points.

When was the last time we got this far in the playoffs?? Phil Jackson couldn't get this team to beat the Pacers. We just don't have the talent. Woody can't make those shots the team must. The Pacers are just a better team. We have the oldest team in the league. I'm happy we got this far. Lets face it they have better players and Woody can stand on his head and it will be a hard win. The only way we win will be if we play at a high level and we are not playing that way. it's not Woody's fault they just can't shoot the damn ball. It's not Woody who have to step up to the plate its the team. Damn the way some of you are complaining you would think that we had a record like the Lakers or the Heat or Dallas for for the past 10 years. When we really sucked in years past I have not heard such complaining. Show me a year in the past 13 years that we were this good?? You can't so it is what it is. We need better players to surround Melo. Not a bunch of old men who are worn down come playoff time. Woody will get another half season or more to prove himself. Just be thankful that we got this far. But just don't blame Woody blame the whole damn team.

What are you talking about at with that NO TALENT COMMENT , 54 wins, 2nd in the east, 2nd in bench points, able to over come injuries to damn near every player on the team.. He is simply getting out coached plain and simple and he knows it. Just look at his moves, listen to his comments, dude doesn't know wtf he's doing with his rotation..

WHERE'S PABLO? Woodson not only kicked Prigioni out of the starting lineup, he also removed him from his game plan.

Prigioni played just 3:26 on Tuesday.

Woodson went with Jason Kidd to backup Raymond Felton.

Kidd finished 0-2 in 16 minutes and missed a fast-break layup. He is scoreless in the past eight games and missed his previous 14 shots.

Asked about Prigioni's playing time, Woodson said, "I'm not going to sit and explain it. Right now at this point I'm reaching trying to find combinations that will work."

Woodson has also gone away from Chris Copeland in the playoffs. Copeland hit two threes in 12 minutes on the floor (all in the second half).

Woodson pulled Copeland, though, less than 30 seconds after he hit his first three.

SHUMP SAYS KNEE WAS "FINE": After playing 16 minutes in Game 4 on a left knee that was less than 100 percent healthy, Iman Shumpert said he was "fine" and his limited playing time had nothing to do with his knee injury.

Knicks doctors examined Shumpert's knee before the game because he felt stiffness in soreness in the knee after falling twice in Game 3. Any pain in Shumpert's right knee is a cause for concern because he tore his right ACL in the playoffs last season and underwent season-ending surgery to repair the injury.

"It's fine," he said. "I have no complaints."

I'm really sorry that you are not understanding that this was a project to build a team that could contend. This team was years in the making and it was assembled with the FULL cooperation and input of Woody who has made a point of saying that he wanted a team full of VETS. It was Woody who asked Grunwald for the older guys like Sheed. Woody said he didn't want a team with young guys like he had in Atlanta, but a team full of VETS.

So that being the case this team is a NOW TEAM. This was an ECF's or BUST year and not a building year. There's no way you can relieve Woody of direct responsibility. I said from the start that he had to get the ECF's for this to be a successful season. He still has a chance to do that, but so far he has STUNK IMO.

You say it's not Woody's fault the team isn't shooting or playing well, but when the team was ballin everyone was ready to give Woody a lot of credit. That's fine, but then you can't absolve him of blame for this mess in the playoffs. We can't finish with a better record than the Pacers, gain HOME COURT and then say we don't have enough talent to beat them. Woody almost lost to Doc who had even less talent!!! Unlike you i'm not "happy we got this far" as if that's good just cuz the team hadn't been this far in a long time. Woody got a significant increase in talent over last years team and so the expectations are higher. He's failing right now and his back and the team are against the wall. They have to win 3 straight or fail to play up to the potential of the team IMO.

It's crazy to see how much worse this team plays in the playoffs and how totally lost Woody is when it comes to adjusting or even preparing his team to play good BB. I'm not talking about getting wins with a good run to close out a game, but actually playing good TEAM BB from the start of the game to the finish. You never saw that from this team. All the good ball and player movement disappeared and it should've gotten better not worse.

It's as if Woody doesn't realize that against top defenses you have to out execute them. This team execution has been mostly horrible. The sets are run sloppy if at all. No drive and Kick, Give and GO, Spread the floor with shooters and swing the ball with crisp passes. No running our scorers thru multiple screens to get open. Worst of all not playing the guys that got us here. Just flat out abandoning the style of play that got us the 2nd seed. If this only happened in one game it would be excusable, but he did this last year and in the Boston Series too. No more freakin excuses for this guy.

The guy is coaching like it's preseason, to here a coach say im looking for combinations that work, after winning 54 games, is assinine..

Oh and let's make this clear. In both the Boston and Indy series, neither opponent is playing great offense! We simply can't run good offense against their defenses. Now mind you the Knicks were a top offensive team this season. All that should've been necessary was a small tweak here and there to adjust to the way these teams have been defending us. Instead we've totally abandoned all the principles that worked all year. This is how the team looked at times during the middle of the season and really we haven't seen the really good ball and player movement we had early on. Instead we got a hot Melo and JR. As would be expected after a hot stretch they came back to earth. You have to run solid TEAM BB and not be fooled into thinking that heavy ISO ball with hot streaky shooters is enough.

Woody went from a bit too much ISO to even more in the playoffs and then when we tried to get back to TEAM BB they couldn't flip the switch back.

Well actually against Indy the Knicks are below their season avg in Iso's.

According to Synergy, on the season, 22% of New York’s plays ended as a result of a pick and roll and 16% are isolations. Here are the numbers for games 1-3:

Game 1 –36.9% pick and roll, 13.6% isolation

Game 2 — 28% pick and roll, 9% isolation

Game 3 — 28.2% pick and roll, 14.6% isolation

so the knicks win when they play isolation ball less than 9.1% of the time.

what were the percentages last night?

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%
Woodson is getting out coach
