Is Chandler and Kidd still hungry? They already won a Championship , of course it was with Dallas a few yrs ago.

They got paid Royaly by the Knicks for for helping a team win a Chip, sooooooooo what's their real motivation to win one in NY ?

The fact the Woodson got on Chandler during the season and he went on a 20 rebound run could be telling...Good question...

I would think so. But, look, if these guys can't produce, I don't see why they should get minutes. We have a deep team. There are players who can produce. But, these guys at their best are better than those other options, so I hope they'll get it together. 3-5 rebs for a 7'1" guy is unacceptable. 0 pts night after night for a hall of famer is unacceptable.

I just looked up JKidd's stats for the postseason: 9 GP, 24.4 mpg, 13.6% FG (not a typo), 18.8% 3p%, 1.2 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 2.3 ast, 1.1 stl, 1.4 TO. The FG% and ppg are absolutely atrocious and unacceptable. I am near the point where I am saying maybe he should sit.

Tyson Chandler's postseason: 9 GP, 28.9 mpg, 62.9% FG, 7.1 rpg, .4 ast, 1 blk, .7 stl, 1 TO, 5.8 ppg. Below his season average in just about all of those categories, some by a lot. I hope he steps it up, and has a minutes reduction if he's just not healthy.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

What disturbs me most about Tyson is the absolute lack of effort. He literally stood and watched Hibbert get offensive boards and never really blocked him out the way an Elite NBA Center should. All he did was foul the guy and get scored on. this is shocking cuz Tyson had actually shut Hibbert down at times in the regular season.

Kidd looks really bad. He's totally lost confidence in his jumper, which was so good early in the season. He looks slow and makes too many mistakes. I thought he had some good moments in the Celtics series. I would just have him on a short leash. If he looks good keep him in, but if he starts playing like Grandpa Moses take him out.

I've gotta believe that at some point JR is gonna have a breakout game. It just seems like the law of averages would suggest he'd have some success in one of these games. If he had even a decent game it would totally change this teams mood. Sad but we can't win this series without him playing well.

"Honestly, I think we’re doing it to ourselves," center Tyson Chandler said. "I watched the tape myself and there’s open looks. We have to be willing passers. You have to sacrifice yourself sometimes for the betterment of the team.

"… I don’t think — I’m not saying that anybody is doing it maliciously. I think it’s more so a situation. You want to take over the game or you want to make a big shot, [but] you have to just stick to the game plan.’’

Wow this tells me that they players were on the same page for game 2 but not game 3 for the coach and his game plan.

Chandler got his ass eaten up by Hibbert on BOTH ends. He needs to STFU.

Kidd's playing very hard. A guard won't average 7 rbs/36 min unless he's hungry. He just can't score right now. No one knows what the issue is with Chandler but that thought did enter my mind. He has a ring and a lot of recent individual awards (gold medal, all-star, DPOY) and might not be motivated for more right now.

What Is The Answer Man's Motivation?

Q. playa2 - Is Chandler and Kidd still hungry?

A. They is.

As Doug Collins noted, the collective playoffs experience for this band of brothers is brand new. The regular season is played at a different pace. The playoffs change every possession into a battle. The intensity is ramped up. Playing with poise is the most important trait any team can bring. TEAM. Not individuals. Team.

"(We) produced just 11 assists in Saturday’s 82-71 loss and just 15 in their Game 1 defeat. (We) had 20 assists in Game 2, their lone victory of the series."

“... I think we need to do a better job of allowing the game to dictate who takes the shots and not the individuals.” - Tyson Chandler

“We get it in spurts. but we’re not getting it consistently enough. We’re just not. And in a playoff series, when teams start locking in, you can’t play on one side of the floor. Last night, we went back to that again.” - Coach Mike Woodson

Q. playa2 - what's their real motivation to win one in NY ?

A. Broadway. The bright lights. Legacy.

Win a championship in New York and you are adored for decades. That is exactly what players play for. Not the money. That is why players consider NYC a prime market. It certainly isn't the housing market.

I think he was paying soft because of his injury. now I think he needs to play like a big boy. the individual accolades probably do serve as justification of sorts. he just looks lazy on defense and that's infuriating

This has nothing to do with need, desire, heart, or any of the other BS excuses used when maybe a team just isn't good enough. In the cases of Kidd and Chandler it's about age and injury. Kidd's obviously washed up at this point in his career and is playing pretty much the same now as he has since January; really, nothing's changed. Tyson's hurt. He missed the last month of the season with a bulging disk in his neck which he clearly hasn't recovered from. Spinal injuries are pretty serious and we shouldn't be expecting the same Tyson until next season.
Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

let's be real. kidd is just washed up and shouldn't be in woody's rotations.

chandler probably needs neck surgery after the season, just like melo probably needs shoulder surgery.

yes, chandler pisses me off right now, but the guy probably has limited movement.

this is why guys hate playing hurt. if they dont play hurt the fans say you have no heart and you're not gamer. if you do play hurt, the fans get on you for "not doing your job."

Chandler's so hungry, he apparently wants to eat Melo for lunch. Especially after a one game, upappetizing diet of Hibbert sole of kicks filet.

Hibbert outplays his azz and he gets quoted talking up iso ball and offensive deficiencies? Howsa bout you try and keep Roy "I show up every third game or so" from shoving you and your wannabe Harden beard through both rims?

JKidd's thirsty; don't know about hungry.

you better ask somebody,

i don't think kidd has it in him to be hungry anymore, he's a bag of bones,

chandler is just, i don't know; maybe tyson is getting stoned with jr before these games, because he's like 4 steps too slow,

i don't know what's going on anymore, to be totally honest with you.

not only is tyson leting hibert post and toast him, he's not making him pay on the other end..

Funny how melo gave hibert most of his 5 fouls, while tyson didn't get hibert one single foul

Chandler needs more touches in the post and to get the ball at the top of the key and look for someone to pass to when the shot clock is counting down. Tyson is the man.
