the more i think about it...the more i wouldn't mind letting JR walk and replacing him with Shumpert. for some reason the off court stuff (during playoff time really bugged me). JR almost cost us the series by being shorthanded game 4 and being hungover game 5.

I know JR has been great all yr and is struggling now. Ive been on board of signing JR by any means necessary. However, the more I think about it...maybe thats not the case

Let JR walk and start Shumpert (who will be a star)
Must sign JR by any means possible (2nd leading scorer on the team)
Shumpert is just a Bruce Bowen clone (athletic wing defender who can drill the 3)
Hopefully we can sign JR to a reasonable contract and keep what we have going

I hope we can keep JR. Shumpert needs to produce for a complete season. I'm liking what I see though.

opinions on JR can change in a matter of seconds, but when he goes well we play at an elite level.

Shumpert still has some ways to go, but this is the most excited I've been about him in more than a year. He took a while to get the confidence back, but it seems like its back and his game is starting to round out again. If he gets consistency on the jumper and now has the confidence to finish at the basket he could be quite a player in the NBA.

yeah but, this is why he is a bench player. I can't be mad at a bench player going though a slump, but, what I am MAD about is that he has forgotten how to pass the ball. JR was a very good passer and facilitator until the playoffs began. Since he has forgotten what was working for him. If he continues to stink it up, I PRAY Woody benches him and see's if Q can give him anything since they can play the same position.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Sad to say, as a huge Shump fan, we gotta resign JR. Shumpert is coming along nicely, but JR is a valuable piece to the puzzle. That said, if he doesn't take the $5 mill we can offer, sayonara Earl.

Shumpert is a great defender who can handle the ball well, finish and is starting to shoot well. Woodson has gotten his TOs under control. He should be part of the team future.

its way too early to tell what Shump is going to be or not be.

While we need JR, I'm almost thinking that he would be addition by subtraction- not that Shump can be better, but the fact is, while JR has turned around his game this year, he is still a high volume chucker that tends to kill team offense.

Woodson is watching the young mans minutes so when he leaves, trust others know what they are doing.

Jr will be back, his Starks like low self esteem issiues will prevent most teams from investing in the kid.

Best thing would be to have others relieve the scoring burdan so we are not relient on him.

JR was our 2nd best and most important player all season behind Melo. As frustrating as the off the court bull**** can be with him we absolutely need him on this team and there's no reason we shouldn't try to keep both him and Shump. Ideally, we're able to land a player that can handle point guard duties himself instead of having to have 2 points out there at all times. That way we could play our best 5-man lineup, PG X, Shumpert, JR, Melo, Tyson, at the end of games without having to worry as much about ball movement.
Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

The man won an award. Next up, JR NBA Citizen of the Year.
Does almost everything on this board have to be what have you done for me in the last 5 seconds? Me, I like having lots more bullets than the bad guys.

Postgame interview: "How do you plan to get out of this slump?"
JR: "Shoot"
