It is inexcusable that Melo, Smith and Shumpert are the only ones that grabbed more than 5 boards and also more than 5 rebounds. I'm glad those 3 crashed the boards but Tyson HAS to do a better job establishing himself and so does Martin. We aren't going to beat the Pacers in Indy if we go on like that.

Martin was huge this game, whether he got tons of rebounds or not. It's the 14 million dollar "defensive anchor" who runs away from contact that you need to worry about.

He sucks, it's not picking on him. When he steps up, IF he steps up I will acknowledge it. Right now he is a NON-FACTOR.

I'm not picking on him. I am saying he has to grab more rebounds. 7 rebounds in 2 round 2 playoff games combined is worthy of me starting a thread to call him out on it.

I agree that Martin played better than what the stats may or may not suggest. I'm just saying it's not going to work out so well in Indy.

Martin should've gotten more minutes. Chandler still sucked for the most part. Hibbert is dominating him to an almost embarassing level with regards to the boards and the way he is being a deterrent.

Jared Jeffries sucks.
Tyson Chandler does not suck. He may not be Shaquille O'Neal, but he's, at worst, an average center. And I'd say better.

I think Amare will be a difficult matchup for the Pacer frontline.

not really, our bigs block out, our guards grab the rebounds. pacers are such a big team that our bigs cant do both effectively against them and not foul out.

Seriously if they can get 11 more playoff wins this postseason playing like this and Tyson grabbing just a few rebounds, I sign up all over that.

Hopefully Tyson is heating up. He surely played oh so much better than in Game 1!

How much does the average NBA player make? 5 million? Chandler makes 14. I know that at the end of the day it's about what you contribute to the team despite the salary, but the effects of that extra 9 million he is STEALING from us are surely felt.We already have Messiah 'Mare taking 20 mil out, we don't need this phony helping him. Essentially, what I dislike about Chandler is that he lives off his reputation, now more than ever. He does not bring it night in and night out, and the fact that he has no offensive game whatsoever irritates me to the bone. I know I've made this comparison too many times, but when you watch the shots Kenyon Martin takes (and usually makes) on offense you're telling me you don't wonder why tyson (6 years younger younger and in his prime)can't make the lay-ups, hook shots, and 10 foot jumpers Kmart makes? The fact that he's gotten this far without developing any of these skills says something about him, either the talent isn't there or the commitment isn't there, either way it's not too rosy. You're not part of any "Big 3" when you're a defensive player with no offensive game, no passing skills, no dribble skills, inconsistent effort, proclivity to avoid contact, and a WEAK immune system.

If Tyson is still hurt (Neck) this thread doesn't make sense.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

I think he is. I don't think his neck is right.

Chandler could have been better but, to say he sucked last night is just wrong. He NEEDS to grab more boards, very true but, on the other end, the guard have got to stop forgetting about him, run the pic-n-roll because if he gets his offense going, it can cause fouls on Indy's Bigs.

Why is Camby Rotting on the Bench. Wasn't he brought in for the playoffs?? Dude is reportedly healthy enough to play so, I hope they kill this small lineup and put Melo back at the 3.

And can we maybe get a glimpse of Q when in counts instead of garbage time. JR is giving us NOTHING so, why not roll the Q-Man out and see if he can give us anything. If his shot isn't falling, he's still a decent defender and is very good on the boards.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Agree with this, also that chandler is being badly outplayed by Hibert. Its the worst matchup because hibbert doesnt have to guard Tyson, so he's free to help.

It was said that he is moving like his knee was never a problem. After learning a bit more about the procedure he had, I am more inclined to think this might actually aid his health next season (please, please, please). They didn't go in to do any repair work; they just cleaned out some dead and loose tissue in "both" knees. Its supposed to alleviate possible strain that could result in the future from those particles. Sounds more like preventive maintenance than anything else.

Ironically TYSON 16 game absence, we went 15 and 1..I can't stand the fact that he can't pull hibert out of the paint

The Knicks' lost 4 games while he was out. In the others, K-Mart was basically scoring with Tyson-Chandler-like efficiency and JR was playing the best ball of his life.

FYI I spoke to Charlie (ward) recently and he said he has been contacted by the Knicks hoping he will accept a position with the organization (he didn't specify). Said the Knicks are really working to bring back guys that were fan favorites during the Ewing/Houston era. He said he's really into coaching the kids and really like being away from the media and bright lights.

I always ask him about Spree, the two were closer than most know but, he said no one hears from Spree.

for those that might not know (I've mentioned it before), Ward is my Mothers 1st cousin.
