ALL NBA TEAMS
First Team
PG: Chris Paul
Played Magnificently this year despite missing 12 games and fewer minutes. Led the Clippers to 56 wins and had solid numbers, his scoring went down with the addition of crawford and development of Bledsoe.
SG: Kobe Bryant
Just an unbelievable player for his age. Top 5 in scoring, while shooting 46% from the field together with 6 assists per game. Too bad D'Antoni rode him to the ground just to get to the playoffs
SF: Kevin Durant
Got overshadowed by Lebron's magnificent season, but he put up great numbers across the board. Joined Bird and Nash in the 50/40/90 club and finished second in scoring, while also leading the Thunder to the top seed in the West.
PF: LeBron James
No brainer. Despite the hate I have for him, have to commend him for an unbelievable season. Shot the ball reall really well throughout the year and led the Heat to a 27 game winning streak
C: Joakim Noah
I might be reaching here, but he is the backbone of the team. With no superstar, many expected the bulls to fight for the eight seed, but Noah was there leader. Fought injuries in the end of the season, but his impact was made. Average career highs in points and rebounds with 11 per game respectively, while adding 4 assists ans 2 blocks a game. If Chicago was the knicks, people will say the same thing.
SECOND TEAM
PG: Russell Westbrook
Typical numbers from him, points, rebounds, asissts and steals while playing the whole 82 games of the season
SG: James Harden
Led the rockets to 45 wins and became the man of the team. Averaged 26 points per game together with 6 assists and 2 steals per game
SF: Carmelo Anthony
SCORING CHAMP, led his team to 54 wins this season and was the leader of a team that was hounded by injuries all season. Played better Defense this season and invlolved his teammates more, even if his assists dont show it( had a lot of hockey assists)
PF: Tim Duncan
Ageless Wonder. Still a joy to watch and led his team to second place of the western conference. Was the anchor of there Defense and leader on the court.Put up 18 points 10 rebounds and almost 3 blocks per game
C: Marc Gasol
Defensive Player of the year and had solid stats throughout the year.
THIRD TEAM
Positions dont really matter in this round
Steph Curry
Unbelievable year for him, especially after last season. Just torched the rim with his three point shooting this year and set an all time record for 3's made.
Tony Parker
Was an MVP candidate before his injury and then popovich did the right thing and limited his minutes right after. It hurt his NBA team chances, but improved there title hopes
Paul George
Played really well this year, though inconsistent with his offense. Still put up solid numbers across the board and played great man to man defense. Him together with Hibbert was the reason for Indiana holding teams to less than 90 points per game
Zach Randolph
A beast. Rebounding machine despite having little athletisism. Averaged 15 and 11
Dwight Howard
A down year for himm but still posted solid numbers with 17/13 and 2.5 blocks per game
COACH OF THE YEAR
Always a hard choice but you have to give it to either Popovich,Spoelstra, Thibs or George Karl
Popovich for once again leading the Spurs in the West, he has an aging Ginobili and Duncan while Parker got injured for about 3 weeks. His teams are always a beauty to watch
Thibs for the work he has done with Chicago, led them to a wiining record despite the uncertainty of Rose throughout the year.
Karl, since this is a regular season award, he deserves proprs for turing Denver into the third seed without a superstar and to a ling winning streak.
Spoelstra will be given a chance just because of his winning streak. I believe though he deserves a lot of credit too as a coach.
Executive of the Year
Grunwald hands down.
Kidd,Prigioni,Copeland, Martin,Kurt Thomas,Replacing Lin with a cheaper and better fit in Felton, letting go of Fields- all of those were solid signings. His only bad signing was Camby.
Thoughts?
