I don't know what to expect from the Knicks in game 1 after a short turnaround from that crazy finish in Boston. My biggest concern is Melo's shoulder. We seemed to come out relatively unscathed in round 1 besides him and Novak, but Novak hasn't been a difference maker at all.

I think we'll see a lot more of KMart Tyson front court this series. It's going to be tough and physical. Boston was a good test. Let's keep it up and play full 48 minute games.

Yes, the playoffs are hard and will no doubt become harder against a rugged Pacers front line and an overall team with younger legs than Boston’s. The absence of a Knicks on-court celebration Friday night in an arena that has long tormented them was in grudging deference to the Celtics. In a larger and more important sense, it was respect for the process, the long and winding road.

- Harvey Araton

“I think they can go all the way,” he said. “They have the pieces, the tough leadership. They have a dynamic scorer in Melo, and their motto is defense. Shumpert gives them someone who can guard 1 through 4, anyone on the perimeter, and Tyson is that presence in the middle, with high I.Q., willing to do anything for a team to win.”

- Jason Terry

Beating the Celtics is just a start, and it won’t take long for new hostilities to form against Indiana. Along with schoolyard histrionics, war clichés inevitably and too easily accompany a grueling playoff series. Finally, after 13 years and in Season 3 of the Anthony era, the Knicks can appreciate how hard and educational it is in most cases to win one.

- Harvey Araton, NYT

Exactly

- I feel like beating the Celtics was very good practice for playing the Pacers. I feel like beating the Hawks wasn't very good practice at all for playing the Knicks.

- Feels good to have home-court advantage. The Pacers aren't as bad a road team as the Celtics, but they're pretty bad. They just lost twice in Atlanta.

- Seth Rosenthal

Pablo, take the layup.

I agree but I'd rather deal with a bad mistake like that from a pass first PG than a bad chuck by a me-first point

Random Thoughts

Compared to playing in Boston under the championship banners, playing on the road in Indiana will feel like a vacation.

Game one is a nice one to get. Send a message early rather than the need for a mandatory win in game 2.

Pablo, take the layup.

Carmelo Anthony's shoulder is throbbing but he cannot dare miss any shifts. Hit the open man.

Kenyon Martin and Tyler Hansbrough will become intimately acquainted. A few misplaced elbows can do that.

Earl Smith will drop 30 and 7 rebounds in game three. Extra energy. Where do you go in Indianapolis?

Any talk of Amare Stoudemire suiting up is greatly exaggerated. Save him for a rainy day.

Raymond Felton loves New York and New York is learning to love him back.

Agreed. But then Miami is at least twice the team Indiana is.

Every team in the p[layoffs gives their best shot. Except the Nets.

Indiana has a few moldy championship banners from the ABA.

Boston Celtics ghosts are never easy to conquer. Their 17 banners are the real thing.

There are more passionate New Yorkers in Miami than entitled Heat latecomers.

We plays 'em one at a time.

It really depends on what is going on with the knicks internally that we aren't privy too know. If everything is copacetic with the knicks we should cover home base nicely. If mental lapse still linger we could drop one of our home games before bouncing back with urgency.

The NBA PLAYOFFS 90% MENTAL 10% PHYSICAL

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

And we're twice the team we showed in the Boston series- haven't played anywhere near our best yet.
