I understand Novack not getting much time but Copeland deserves another chance since nobody else but Felton and Melo looked decent on the offensive end last night.

ive been asking this question every single game. with the team lacking offense completely, it makes no sense as to why he hasn't been playing at all. that's on woodson. i'd make damn sure he gets some burn game 6 to see what he's got going.

It's up to Woodson. Doesn't trust Copeland at all for some reason.

because he sucked very bad in the 1st two games.
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

He's hurt. He plays indifferent, sporadic D. He's had DNP's during the regular season. This is money ball now. Short rotations. Short leashes. Precious, high cost minutes. He played in a game and did nothing. Woody is short on patience now.

What are you people seeing secretly in practice each day that is making this guy so incredible?

Boston had no answer for Cope in the reg season, he's played all of 21 sporadic minutes in the playoffs and maybe he was nervous, he caused no turnovers, did not get burned defensively. He missed 3 shots in the first game and two in the second. If he's nervous it's probably because he thinks Woodson will yank him at a moments notice instead of letting him play and get into the flow. Woodson's biggest flaw is not trusting....even though he knows that Cope can be a factor and I think that Cope would have been a factor in a game or two by now.

He had some sort of sleeve on his shoulder in game 1. I know he has played since but I can't remember if he still is wearing it.

The thing is Cope is 29. He also stepped up when KMart and Tyson were busted up. He did look scared in the first game.

I think I would much rather have the option of playing off a spread 5 than consistently running the offense through Melo and JR when they are settling for jump shots and bad quality shots when not needed

Whether it may be for 5, 10, or 15minutes, or at times as a #1, #2, or #3 option, he IS NOT just a spread out player like Novak when playing the 5
Regardless he should be playing and Woodson should be building on the confidence and momentum that he carried to end the season
He has to give opportunities to Copeland and even Camby to perform instead of watching the crap we watched the past 2 games
We have no shot at beating a team like Miami playing that style, probably not even Pacers, at least Woodson get's the opportunity to correct this while we have a lead as a wake up call...

We need the right combination of good shot selection, ball movement, penetration, unselfishness/ability to trust each other/and play off each other's abilities, AND LESS ISO when not needed

Instead of going after Phil Jackson, how about going after his apprentice, Brian Shaw as an assistant if he does not get a starting coach job with a nice salary
Or an assistant from SA would be nice...

If Copeland plays in any games it would be on the road, do we really understand the PRESSURE that's associated with players who play for the Knicks in the playoffs at Madison Square Garden ?

Wish we knew what the deal was with Copeland. How hurt is he really? Hard to get a straight answer from the Knicks brass. Woodson might be using it as an excuse because he doesn't think Copeland is ready. If things get rough I hope Woodson gives him another shot. Copeland has the entire offseason to recover.

I think he should play when Garnet is off the floor. Let him guard bass and take away a player from zoning the paint on ISOs/PnR plays.

That's an excellent point it worked in the reg season, but this is the NBA playoffs where nerves R US with Chris Copeland.
