Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

Very good article. Defenses are faster and not only do your swingmen need to be able to hit the 3 and defend, but 4's with no jumper are being phased out as well. Having tough bigs is not as valuable as it used to be. Being able to spread the floor is huge today, because this past year there was an overhaul of teams who double teamed opposing teams' best players. This can be beneficial for a guy like Melo who has tremendous spot up shooters around him, but other teams aren't so lucky.

Just look at the number of 20+ point scorers this year. I think there were only 9. LeBron, Melo, Durant, Westbrook, Kobe, Harden, Aldridge, Curry, and Irving. Notice LA was the only big to go over 20 and he takes a lot of jumpers. Howard and Griffin both had significant drops and I think Al Jefferson did as well. Kevin Love missed most of the season but his numbers were down too.

Look back 6-7 years, teams didnt always put up 100 per game. Some teams put up 80 points every 100 possessions and won lots of basketball games. Now games are called tight in the regular season. You need role players who can score. The Marquis Daniels' are dinosaurs.

I think the 4men without the jumper "were" being phased out but, recently the late aid and effectiveness of guys like Kenyon and Birdman have had on Miami and New York and, what the guy from Denver -Kenneth Faried I think his name is- have opened a few eyes around the league. Athletic energy guys may well be appreciated once again.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

This article is spot on and we must continue to look for these players. Shumpert is becoming one, but definitely need to add more.
