Hopefully the way he quickly responded saves him from suspension. He didnt argue or protest, and I still think it was a bit of a flop

I mean this is playoff basketball, terry didn't get caught flush, he lost his balance more then anything. It was a over the top play, but no one got hurt and a fine should be the punishment, no punches and he walk away.

Doesn't matter copeland feast on the celtics all season long including the preseason..he's avg 25 points against them

The flagrant last nite cost him money.
Thats the stupid JR who took the bait and reacted.
Sure we up 3-0 and its not critical but its the kind of undependable thing that makes guys like Nate special, and JR undependable.
No he is not perfect and we'll still love him but if you want to win in critical moments the mind must able to stay cool and do so under fatigue and pressure. Few athletes possess this. JR does not.
This is how we roll. I can live with it.

It was really stupid of him to do that at that moment. Boston was DEAD. Now he'll be out and they have a chance to extend. So stupid. That's a prime example of why I can't give JR my full confidence.

Jason Terry is known to run his pie hole with the best of them (see LEBRON JAMES)

So when he blatantly reached in on J.R with a hard reaching foul and nobody called anything J.R took it into his own hands to clear him away from him. The game wasn't in jeopardy or anything we were well in control of the game. It was J.R way of sending a message ( don't talk junk and then foul me ) we are kicking your butt all over the court. NUFF SAID !

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

You send a better message by winning. Not by getting ejected and suspended.

I doubt JR gets suspended. Someone reminded me of that KG choke on Bill Walker 2 years ago in the playoffs. KG never got suspended, so I don't think JR will get suspended for the elbow.

That happened at the end of the first game of the lockout season. Not playoffs.

Well, trying to look on the bright side of this bad move by J.R. If the Knicks do advance, I don't believe JR will have another meltdown like this in the playoffs. I'm sure Woodson read him the riot act. Don't want JR to lose his cool, but if its going to happen, I'd rather it was now instead of deeper in the playoffs where it could cost us a series.

Still confident we'll be able to advance, even with this temporary setback.

The game was well in hand , J Terry just got dissed again on National TV. Didn't know he was suspended ?

The league might give us a gift but why give them the opportunity to suspend you?

How is what JR did any different than a pitcher throwing at a guy who is crowding the plate??? Dont let the tats cloud your judgement of the play, good ballplayers know that when a defender is up on you & giving you no freedom of movement (BTW if the reach in by Terry is called this play never happens) you are allowed to clear space by ripping through in your shooting motion. Now did JR try to send a message....Ab.so.friggin.lute.ly & hope those chumps in green heard it "Your time is done & there's a new bully on the block, so bow down mufukkas!!!"

Mike Woodson :"He'll learn from it," Woodson said. "I don't think he was trying to hurt the kid. I thought he was trying to clear space.

If Oakley or D. Harper did that , nobody would be yapping as much. We are witnessing Knicks basketball again. Kmart has reminded us how the game is played in the playoffs !

The NBA is wildly inconsistent with these things so it wouldnt surprise me. Didnt Ibaka not get suspended for blatantly hitting Griffin in the nuts? Or KG for choking Billy Walker on Christmas last season.
Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.

Human emotions- nothing to do with intelligence. Obviously I wish it didn't happen, but in competitive sports it's pretty common for someone to lose their cool. I wouldn't be surprised if he got suspended, but he really shouldn't be- Terry definitely flopped to make it look worse. During the game there were at least two times where KG went flying into Shump with his elbow flying. Oh, but that was part of his trademark illegal picks so that's okay...

If anything I think that probably hurts him more. By acting the way he did after throwing that elbow he let everyone else know he did it purposely; he can't try to argue it was an accident, or in the heat of the moment, or it was just his shooting motion. And I can't imagine that he's not getting suspended for Game 4.

Can anyone explain to me why that happened? I was at a bar watching it with some friends and none of us had any idea what was going on, it just sort of came out of nowhere. What I was reminded of more than anything else was Starks headbutting Reggie Miller pretty much out of nowhere back in 1993:

It's not the end of the world getting suspended for a game against a Celtics team that's dead in the water but we can't afford this type of **** going forward. What happens in the 2nd round when we're playing a much more physical Pacers team? Or if we make it to the ECF and we're playing Miami and one of the dirtiest players in the league, Dwyane Wade? We can't afford to lose our best guard and 2nd best player on the team for a game because he lost control of his temper.

To anyone saying that was a flop go to the 40s mark of the video, JR nailed him. If Terry were flopping why would he be jumping up and trying to fight? And this is not 90's NY Knick basketball unless you're referring to Starks stupidly headbutting Reggie Miller after which Ewing and Oakley went off on him for acting so stupid.
