frank at PG
dermarr at SF
sweetney at PF

three VERY young (23 and younger), solid, developing players on a team with a coaching staff that realizes the importance of developing young talent. one could be a future starter (sweets), one could be an awesome 6th man, instant offense (dermarr), and one could possibly start on many other teams in the league (frank).

sweets can possibly supplant kurt by the break next season. frank will supplant moochie. and if we re-sign dermarr for the LLE, he can supplant shandon or penny as the backup SF. (shandon and penny will fight it out for the backup SG).

why do i think this...well if you notice, when these three players get extended minutes (20 or more), they produce and put up the numbers. i think wilkens is doing a good job with these 3 guys (even frank).

if we do NOTHING this offseason other than developing these three players, we are going to be fine. on pace for a 45 win season (like many have said) even without h20. then we can use the expiring deals and possibly include one of these guys for another star player at the break next season.

in my opinion, our future doesn't look too bad, not too bad at all...

Amazing how we've gone from having no future to having a bright future in such a short time...

A couple days before Christmas, I was still hoping that Milos would come over and play, and wondering when McDyess' knee would save our season...
Let it be known: I believe in the Knicks this year-- deep into the playoffs, I swear to you my brothers...

so true, TRU. And the Knicks went from being one of the shortest teams in the league to a much bigger team.

All of the pieces are there. Expiring contracts. Huge contracts that come off the cap in a couple of years. Tradable contracts. Young talent.

I like this team. I think there huge upside potential with this roster over the next 5 years.

Yeah this season has been crazy. It's kind of funny in a way. Us Knick fans have been looking for a savior so long we forgot what it is to watch young guys develop.

Isiah rid us of Spoon, Eisley, McDyess, Milos, Doleac, and Lampe....
All of a sudden we had nothing to complain about because these guys were the hot topics in Knick conversation.

Now the Knicks have alot of guys that are young like Nazr,DeMarr, Frank, Sweetney, Marbury, Tim Thomas....it's great.

27 and under crowd:

Stephon Marbury at PG/SG
Tim Thomas at SF
Nazr Mohammed at PF/C

23 and under crowd:

Frank Williams at PG
Dermarr Johnson at SG/SF
Mike Sweetney at PF

And ALL OF THEM are getting playoff experience this year!
ALL OF THEM but DerMarr are locked up for a few more seasons too.

The only players Isiah should offer other teams are the old guys:
Dikembe,Shandon,Houston,KThomas,Harrington,Trybanski,Norris
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

dont dread at all... we arent losing anyone. We can protect 8 people. Dermaar is a FA, so unless he wants to sign elsewhere he's coming back and we dont have to protect him. Isiah said he wants him back, Dermaar says he wants to be here. So we protect
Sweetney 1, Frank 2, Tim 3, Marbury 4, Nazr 5, Kurt 6, Othella 7, Deke 8
If the Bobcats want to select Houston, Penny, Shandon, Moochie or TSki they can be my guest. I'm protecting Harrington and Deke because they have expiring contracts and Harrington could actually have decent value to a team like Cha. He's got a great attitude and works and practices hard.
