He Should win coach of the year. We won 54 games and we had so many injuries. Melo and Chandler missed at least 15 games each, amare missed 70% of the year, shump missed half the year, and sheed/camby missed most of the year

Was listening to Mike and Mike this morning, they have it down to a two man race for COY between Karl and Woodson.

Obviously I'm hoping Woody takes it, but I can certainly understand if Karl wins as well. Regardless, glad to have a coach in NY deservingly in the running.

Saw that too. Would love to see Woodson win it but for the life of me, cant understand how people ignore the job coach Spo did in Miami. They won 80% of their games not to mention a 27 game win streak....And no, not everyone can do what coach Spo is doing.

It has nothing to do with Hate if Karl wins. It will be because he most certainly deserves it. Denver almost won 60gms no Max Cats.

If that was the case....the NBA hates a lot of teams Utah(Sloan never won), San Antonio(I think Pop has only won twice), Atlanta(Woody didn't win there), Clippers(Del Negro Clippers have set franchise history), Grizzlies(Lionel Hollins magnificent job every year), Houston(when Adleman and Van Gundy were there), Heat(Spo has yet to win), Chicago(Phil Jackson only won once).... shall I continue?

Please Cut It Out with the Media Hates New York Propaganda

I agree it wont have anything to do with hate after karl wins but Avery Johnson winning over Woodson when the knicks were off to a far better start? How does one possibly explain that?

I think Spoelstra is also not getting enough credit for having a legitimate shot to win coach of the year. He has the best record in the league and they won 27 straight. He has a good chance of getting the award.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Not taking away from what Spo has done but if fans say the Cavs were a trash team without Lebron, who won 60gms as did Mike Brown who other fans feel is a GIMMICK coach when he was there....what makes what Spo's done remarkable? He not only has Lebron, he has Wade/Bosh/Allen/Battier/Chalmers/Haslem but I can concede he should be in the scussin

One of the guys, or holding guys accountable?

“They’re not a really talented team. They’re a moderately talented team that has completely overachieved. Tyson Chandler is a good to very good center obviously. I think Woodson’s decision to play Carmelo Anthony at the four was the biggest reason that the Knicks have been able to ascend. He’s gotten J.R. Smith to play at the highest level he’s ever played. He’s taken Raymond Felton as a reclamation project from Portland and gotten him to play effectively."

- Jeff Van Gundy

“I frankly can’t believe there hasn’t been a larger chorus out of New York for him being Coach of the Year. Now I think you can make a case for a lot of coaches, George Karl, Erik Spoelstra, you can go on and on. But Mike Woodson was the right hire at the right time and people also forget what he took over in Atlanta and how he brought them from like 13 wins into a 50-win team and consistently and somehow that’s gotten lost in the narrative as well.”

At a place where there hasn’t been a title in 40 years he takes over a nowhere team, and an organization that produced the darkest basketball period in the history of Madison Square Garden, and has been nearly 40 games over .500 since.

- Mike Lupica

Mike Woodson will always have haterz here because of the love people had for Danphoney.

But I for one thinks he has adjusted so well with all the injuries and headaches he had to endure all year.

He's a seasoned coach who has improved on making adjustments as the season went on, by understanding his players mental and physical makeup. Now we should all understand why he likes veteran players playing at MSG.

Basically he knows his team better than you and I, while we scream from our sofa or lounge chair.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

this is the best days of the life of a knicks fan, it's like a double spring, because you leave winter and it's nice out again, then you have the knicks doing damage in the playoffs
