Knicks just might be one of those teams where everything goes right. Grunwald picking up Earl of Barron and Q is huge. Those guys will be in shape once the ECF roles around. Cope is gonna see big key minutes as a wildcard. This season could not have ended any better than it did. Health is key. If Amare comes back and gives us anothher big off the bench for 15mins i will take it. And most important of all Melo is playing his best ball

I'm more optimistic about the team than I used to be - Grunwald has added a lot of excellent players. Miami still has better odds to make it out of the east than we do though.

Miami has better odds, in regards to winning the title, than every single team in the NBA. SMH!

Barron and Q wont see significant playing time. im more happy that we WONT be facing the bulls
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

But it's a critical factor in evaluating the direction the team took though. Should 2 playoff series wins this year and 2 total in the 3 years of the Melo-Amare-Chandler era be sufficient to satisfy people? Standards have stooped so low after the past decade that my guess is it will be enough to satisfy most.

Get a grip man. That's two series away, and already you're bemoaning what the "fanbase" would say if the Knicks lost to the world champions in the ECF? Are you for real?

What's the problem with that? I want the Knicks to win the whole damn thing and I beleive that they can. However, should they lose a hard fought series to Miami this season will still be a success IMHO.

Hahaha. Whatever happens, it will make for a fun off-season discussion. Cheers.

The Thread Where Somberism Almost Seemed To Die.
All we need now is a random tkf or 3G4G post about how Melo really isn't all that bad... yeah, right

'70's - we won chips, had some nice heroes to emulate and remember growing up
'80's - a decade of spottiness highlighted by BK and the Dbusschere Draft day moment
'90's - welcome to the Ewing Era: we be mean, hard and lose at precisely the wrong times. Hate you, MJ!
'00's - Spree, H20, LJ! A few very happy memories blotted out by the IT scumpit sump
'10's - Hello, my main man Melo! Why, is that the playoffs I smell every year?

Exciting times indeed. It's playoff time fellas, and
1) Top of the division
2) 2 seed and we fear no top team, East or West. Bring it, fools, we seen you before.
3) Shump is still here
4) We did not re-sign ECurry
5) 54 wins. Sing it with me. 54 wins on the wall...that's how we got here y'all.
6) Melo gets a patch
7) Senior citizens going out in style and adding to the fable
8) JR Smith may just like having these moments in MSG. A Lakewood, NJ god finally returns home. [Holds daughter] smile for the camera, hon...
9) QRich, have fouls, will travel. Hi Lebron, remember me?
10) Mr. Wade, KMart paging Mr. Wade, a flagrant 2 is waiting for you in the paint. Please talk some more sheehit.

guns, just embrace the optimism. You'll live longer, and it's alot more fun than worrying about labels and preconcieved notions on the internet. Misconceptions after all, can, at times, be a good thing.

Peace be with you.

Are you talking to me? I wasn't grouping you anywhere. I appreciate your openness. You're probably less concerned than anyone else on the board with proving others wrong.

A lot of the people that get grouped for having an agenda mainly in regards to melo are just waiting for him to accomplish winning in the playoffs consistently. Others just hate him and success doesnt change their opinions. Any attempt to change their opinions is a wasted effort

Im very excited. I grew up watching the 90's knicks who always won 50 games and always came so close to winning championships. This team reminds me of those teams in the 90's If we stay somewhat healthy and keep playing the way we have the last month i really think we can beat miami

I'm terrified of the Celtics. Old teams with a ton of pride and experience scare me.
