Sucks, I really believed Sheed would be good to go for the post-season. Hope the Knicks keep him around the team as well. We're going to war, Sheed brings the mentality we're going to need.

FROM MSG:

KNICKS RASHEED WALLACE RETIRES

NEW YORK, April 17, 2013 – New York Knickerbockers Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations and General Manager Glen Grunwald announced forward/center Rasheed Wallace has retired from playing professional basketball.

“Rasheed has given this team everything he had,” Head Coach Mike Woodson said. “He is a winner, true professional and leader on and off the court. Due to his injury, he will not be available to play for us during the playoffs. We owe this season’s success to veterans like Rasheed.”

Wallace, 6-11, 245-pounds, averaged 7.0 points, on 38.7-percent shooting, and 4.0 rebounds over 14.1 minutes in 21 games this season. In his 15th NBA season Wallace missed 60 games due to an injured left foot. On Feb. 27, new X-rays showed progression to a fractured left fifth metatarsal and he had surgery on Feb. 28.

Hey we were told by some he could return for the playoffs as his fracture wasn't too major. Being Old is no joke....he and Kurt Thomas' feet had too many yrs of BedRock play as Dinosaurs.

I applaud the effort for trying to come back to begin with and trying his best to recover after his injury
His effort, experience, and understanding of the game should earn him a spot as an assistant for player's development for bigg's
He has the old school DEF/TOUGHNESS to go with his POST GAME in addition to the stretch 4/5 ability

Ball don't Lie

I hope we can get

James Singleton for the rest of the year *even if we cannot get the 2nd year deal*
Warrick
Domnic McGuire
Ryan Gomes/Leon Powe/Jamario Moon/Shawne Williams

if a BIG

Darko *played with Boston so knows some of their plays*
Sean Williams
Josh Boone
Nened Kristic

Its sad that Rasheed Wallace's tenure with us had to end before a playoff run, but it was really an enjoyable time and I wish him the best. Hope he stays around with the team as he was a huge part of our bench and camaraderie.

I'm also glad he decided to retire, allowing us to sign a healthy body for the playoff run.

Now, this "who will we sign now" game is actually intriguing, even if the guys acquired won't play in the postseason. We definitely have to get a big now, specifically a center or a tall guy that can get rebounds and defend if needed. I think we should try to bring the best possible and available player because our only healthy guys are Tyson and Martin, both had injury problems late in the season.

Is there a better alternative to Solomon Jones?

regardless they still need that 2nd year non guarantee. one more guy like that with Richardson and White and the Knicks could get a player in the 4 million plus range.

This guy I work with is probably 6'10" or 6'11". I'll see if he's free on Saturday.

does this open another roster spot. Maybe another big will be signed.....I hope

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

this sucks. i have hated wallace his whole career but absolutely loved him on the knicks for everything he brought to the team, which is all the same things that i hated him for previously. toughness, grit, defensive play, are all things he brought in droves to this team when we needed it most. thankfully we have kenyon and chandler to hold it down but wallace will be missed, i hope he finds a seat behind the bench for the playoff run.

I am hoping for Brandon Rush, anyone you are targeting?

Maybe he rededicates this summer to getting in NBA shape, while recovering from his injury or goes in to coaching
Woodson would sure welcome him back with open warms and give him that chance he got this year, even if it is 2 years later

I have a question but, it's not worthy of starting a new thread to ask. Has anyone heard any updates about Baron Davis? Not saying he should be on the roster or anything.

Last reports were that he was rehabbing with Shump and I know he has duties assigned to him from MSG's entertainment division but, I'd like to know how he's doing if anyone has heard. He's one of my favorite players.
