(part two in a very funky series)

"He’s been busting his behind. They’ve been killing him – trust me – for him to be in shape, to make sure he stays fit."

- Raymond Felton

Make no mistake, Kevin Garnett will be a major pest. He will attempt to intimidate and frustrate anyone who gets in his way. Last week, he jumped into a loose ball scrum and managed to throw an elbow out of sight of the referee. Despicable.

Garnett must be stopped. We know Tyson Chandler plays with his emotions on his sleeve. Same with Twins Earl and Carmelo. Good thing the technical foul tally recycles for the playoffs or we would be in trouble. The officials will determine the boundaries of rough stuff. The talk will intense.

Rasheed Wallace knows the mental game and can play the role of diversion, so the attention is not always on Carmelo.

Robin Harris: "You crazy... well I'm crazy too"

Ball don't lie.

It would be nice if he can give us a spot duty but I like the team as is if we can get Tyson and Kenyon back. With Copeland Tyson and Martin--I like our chances. If rasheed comes back---as a spot player all the better. But we have not lost in regulation in 17 games and I believe in every single one of those games--weve held a double digit lead.

Briggs - we just need 8-12 minutes a game from Sheed. Preferably to preserve a lead.

Seth Rosenthanl Makes The Answer Man Laugh

First of all, the prospect of watching Rasheed Wallace spin in a totally meaningless game (the top dudez are expected to rest) in Charlotte is so very thrilling. His only task out there is to test the sore foot, so I imagine he'll just run down the list of activities:
"1. Fall-away three from the top of the arc. Check!
2. Blind turn-around jumper out of the post. Check!
3. Blocking a smaller, younger person and scowling at them. Check!
4. Verbally assaulting a referee. Check!".

This could be the game of the year.

the reports on Sheed kinda confuse me.... They say he has just started running. So surgery and like 3 months off and he has been only running for a few days and will be ready to contribute soon? That's quite the comeback for an old guy.

Wonder what's going on with Amar'e- we could use a bit of low post scoring in case we can't hit our three's. Woody said a few weeks ago he only plans to use him about 10mins a game when he gets back.

Amar'e tweeted this about two hours ago:

Look past the illusion of injury and search for the sprit of perseverance -Stat. #yehosaphat

Wonder if he's close.

Amare is toast. Long live his phenomenal optimism in proclaiming "the Knicks are back!"

I'm still going to spend the next two years thinking 'this time he's going to be okay!', just like I did with Allan Houston. It's tough when you like the player and they have a great work ethic.

I'm always going to be hopeful Amar'e will return until someone from the team reports that he's unable to play. So far he's only had minor setbacks. They may be frustrating, but really he hasn't had anything major that would require more than arthroscopic repairs. Now if he has to have a major operation that would be different. Maybe he can make it back for the 2nd rd. who knows. Good thing is we'll be getting Sheed back soon.

Do you really think that the knicks are a better team when he plays?

NO WAY!

They have looked far more cohesive with him out.

That's nothing to do with Amar'e- the reason we looked more cohesive is just down to players becoming more locked in. JR started driving more, Melo was playing out of his mind, Prigs moved to the starting lineup and Felton started becoming a closer in the 4th Q. Amar'e providing low post scoring off the bench will be a plus in the playoffs, when buckets are hard to come by.

I feel the need for Sheed to stay healthy. If the same goes for Kmart, and even Camby to some degree, we are going to be very tough to beat.

That appearance can often be circumstantial. If guys are slumping then it looks like he's the reason when in fact it's just the slog of a long season and guys fell off their game. Kidd was slumping, Felton etc. STAT was actually HIGHLY effective or have you forgotten how efficient he was playing? IMO it's been a case of bad timing rather than a proven fact that the team can't win with STAT in the lineup. Often he's not playing long enough for the team to establish any chemistry and thus they look bad. If he's coming off the bench for limited minutes it won't hurt the team IMO. We may need his post presence at some point in the playoffs. Remember you've got to win 16 games to win a championship.

Sheed gave it a chance . MisterEarl can write his effigy like he did for Kurt.

Im sure it was up to him to play.

Seems reasonable to have it planned "you go two games then we see about playoffs".

I doubt we really planned for him to be back, but it would have been a bonus.

If they didn't plan to have him back, why keep him?

They were planning on having him back for the playoffs and while I still hope this was just a small bump and he can be part of our playoff run, if not, we really need to get a big with the open spot and maybe even get another insurance with Sheeds spot, maybe for guard?
