I see this article in today's post http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/knicks/man_knicks_would_have_won_title_Gv40WpdK4eymod1YBQuObO?utm_medium=rss&utm_content=Knicks
Xavier McDaniel played the 1991-92 season with the Knicks before his bitter departure to the rival Celtics. McDaniel said he believes if the Knicks had re-signed him and not let him leave for Boston, the Knicks wouldn’t be carrying a 40-year championship drought.

“Patrick, myself and Charles Oakley as the front line, nobody could match up with us,’’ said McDaniel, in the spotlight now that Wichita State, his alma-mater, is in the Final Four. “We would have won a championship with us. Charles Smith [McDaniel’s successor], he’s 6-10. I’ve always said it. He’s got to dunk the ball and the Knicks dropped the ball.’’

Seems like a lot of under the table negotiating was going on and too many players represnted by Falk. Ewing, Jordan, and Xman. I remember the talking at that time that Falk wanted Jordan to win his title cause he knew what a bonanza it would bring.
Xman being told to go out and get a deal is just like Lin's situation.
I don't know if they would have won a chip with Xavier, but he used to punk the hell out of Scotty Pippen. That's when Pippen used to have all those migrane headaches.

I loved Xman in his brief stint with the Riley Knicks.

I will never ever forget Charles Smith. Forgive, sure, but never ever forget. Heartbreaking....

Yeah, if Smith Dunked it...........

So many variables to "what if......"

Im sure X-man would have dunked it, then slapped Jordan around, then spit on him, while eating the placenta from the birth of Jordan kids while reading poetry and washing the car.

That said, its a bad stain on the knicks history trading Mark Jax also for smith.

We have lots of stains!

Yes, yet another saviour 20 years removed from reality. Who was on the downside of his career, if I remember correctly.
Gee, didn't he go to Boston and help them win a chip?

If only Kenny Walker could have shot jumpers!

If only Ken Bannister could have...done ....anything!

If only Mark Jackson was faster!

If only Mo Cheeks had been younger!

If only we had drafted Larry Legend instead of M Ray Richardson!

If only MJ had decided to "come home" to Brooklyn!

I will never forgive the refs for not calling a foul on that play They tried to make it up to us with the Hubert Davis foul call in the playoffs, but it still falls short. As for the X-Man, I really don't remember him dunking that much when he was with us. He had that OK J and he could score in the post now and then, but most of his explosiveness was gone. Still, he was tough as nails. Probably my favorite all-time Knicks front court.

I was watching this game live. Pain and suffering. No basket; no foul; no win.

We've just won 10 in a row. Let's focus on some of the good things because that to where you put your attention grows stonger in your life.

Nahhh, this is nothing noteworthy. Why concentrate on this? 50 point games? Division lead all season long? .600 ball?

Let's spend time and energy imagining how much better it would have been watching anyone else score 50 as Knick.

I'll see your Melo 50 and raise you a Jamal Crawford 52!

I honestly don't know if that's true, I do know he was one of my favorite Knicks that year. That was one imposing team back then. I wish we had traded for him when he was younger. X and Kiki Vandeweghe.

Good one Chuck. To do you one better, I'll take a 36 pt game, 19 assists; 5 steals; 7 rebounds in Game 7 of the NBA Championship series against the Lakers and Jerry West. Walt Frazier did it all. That's why Clyde can say anything he wants in his game commentaries.

They also would have won a championship if they hadn't traded Maciej "Magic" Lampe and Michael "the Bod" Sweetney.
