That's an article about Ed Rush telling referees, possibly jokingly, before a March Madness game that he'll reward them if the T up or eject Arizona's coach from the game. Ed Rush was the NBA's Director of Officiating for about 5 years after Jordan's 2nd retirement; he was in charge during the infamous Game 6 between LAL and Sacto, one of the worst refereed games I've ever seen. Now the joy of my world is in Zion
How beautiful if nothing more
Than to wait at Zion's door
I've never been in love like this before
Now let me pray to keep you from
The perils that will surely come

I think Ed Rush was not going to pay but like the article said he can determine how many games or better paying games a ref can get. NBA better be very careful. This is the big no-no and I would imagine there are few smoking guns. I stand that Donaghy has little cred but if others step forward then he stands on his words. I also stand that league benefits and corruption have been part of professonal sports since the beggining of time. |

![]() It really is ridiculous and I wish there was another coach, like SVG, who would call Stern out directly. Cuban has definitely tried, but it'd be better coming from a coach.
Deadspin ran articles during the playoffs a couple of yrs back where Donaghy would analyze games and discuss why calls were made and the legitmacy of each. Obviously, I read them realizing he was heavily biased against the NBA, but they still were really interesting. Here's an example of Game 4 of the 2011 NBA finals: |

![]() Whenever there is some sort of cheating you better believe there will NEVER be just one person involved, but surely there will always be a fall guy.

I believe it wasn't until last year against Boston when Bill Simmons publicly called out the overall lack of calls on Lebron and the fact he never fouled out of a game in his career up to that point. They played the Celtics in the playoffs game 3 I think, the refs fouled him out of the game on a call that shouldn't have been made as Pietrus actually fouled him. I guess this was another way Stern tried to mock and 1-up the media showing how much control and power he has. There simply isn't an eviler and more despicable person in sports than Stern, when it comes to product and integrity. |
