And here I thought that at the end of last year Thomas excelled in the starting lineup. This year: not as impressive as I thought he would be after all but locking up the starting position in the off-season. Hitting his free throws and collecting a fair amount of rebounds (but as the tallest person in the Knicks regular rotation I would still expect more), but not getting the consistent offense as every knicks fan would like. Those fadeway jumpers won't do anyone any good. No really rugged rebounding and memorable D in the post.... is this the Camby effect?

Thoughts on Thomas so far this year?

Personally I was never a big fan of KT as a starting Pf. Defensively he is solid though some times he overplays and loses his head. Offensively he is sound at best. But he is no more than a solid backup. He would give us vertually the same numbers as a backup because with his foul woes he is still playing reserve type minutes. When spoon finally gets his conditioning back and marcus is back i look for Kt to be relegated to the bench where he is more benoficial to the team bringing a good blow off the bench.

I would still love to see Spoon start at the three. I think he would kill guys there. If I read you right, you are suggesting that Spoon starts at the PF spot? That would be the all 6'6" team plus Camby. WHoa, very small.

Spoon starting at the 3, and where would AH/Spree play?

Spree starting, AH off the bench.

With AH off the bench he would be playing against the second unit of the opponent and would give more balance to the starting unit. I don't know if he would be a ball of energy off the bench like Spree was back in '98 (or whenever), but I would try it out.

I think it's a good idea. Houston should only be on the court when he contributes offensively (because he obviously doesn't bring anything defensively) and sliding Spree at the 2 would benefit him a lot. Let's not forget he was a 24 point scorer in his last year as a Warrior.

The day JVG brings Dolan's 100 Million Dollar Man (houston) off the bench is the day he is fired.

Imagine, a 100 Million Dollar Bench Player!

I wouldn't be surprised if this happened this season.

Spoon or Othella could be our starting PF if we didn't already give up length at the SF and center position. Think about it, we don't have any SF or starting center so we can't give up length at any position. If we however get a tall SF (6'8"+) and a tru center(6'11"+) having a small PF wouldn't matter much. Frankly if we had a true GM he might have seen KT as the bargaining chip during the offseason. While Camby was out during the playoffs the extended play made KT look abit better then he actually is and due to our lack of size he might have been the piece to get us a true center, hindsight anyway..
