it just occurred to me that the way he slashes with these herkyjerky moves reminds me of harden. hes not shooting from 3 when hes struggling and hes drivng more
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

Hes playing much better by not taking so many 3's. The problem once again is he could play his way to a higher contract--there is almost no in between.

Favorite line of that boston win - JR Smiths 1-3 from 3pt range. If he can limit himself to 3 3's max per game and score 20+ I'd be happy.
Rose is not the answer.

You're basing too much on recent performance. He's a 35% 3 point shooter and 44% 2 point shooter. Basically, he's a good 3 point shooter and a bad 2 point shooter.
As far as JR being like James Harden, the difference is that in a few years from now people will say "JR who?"

The whole thread is about his recent performance. Also, it is not like he hasn't had high efficient seasons. It is interesting to see his 3pt % drop in NY. He has had 4 season over 39% or more and one at 37% and these were seasons shooting a high volume. Harden has only had one season at 39%. Anyway, Harden is Harden and JR is who he is but when he plays like this there are few better. Unfortunately he is not consistent. He is however consistent at playing better in the second half of the season.

Hopefully he keeps this up though. I do not like the Harden comparison though.

He's in one of his good runs. I won't say this is a meaningful change unless he keeps it up for a couple of seasons. It's much more likely to be just random variability.

In lay language, we see the "new" JR for a 3 or 4 game stretch every month

i think this JR is here to stay, in his last 5 games 23ppg on 50+% shooting..To be honest, I never seen jr take it to the hole this consistant for even this long..Maybe woodson has finally gotten through.

Right, because James Harden is 37% and 44%, respectively. That's a major difference right there.
And JR's been in the league for 9 years and everybody's always been saying "JR who?"

Agree JR realizes that he is 6-6 225 and can handle the ball. When does anyone remember him attacking the basket like this--he got it. Even his bad shots were forced at the shot clock not really his shot selection. This is a new player and he knows it.

Well of course Bonn because anyone who's followed basketball longer than any sample stretch run would know....

I guess he was James Harden then too but forgot how to maintain being Harden

Only in this bizarro Knick world is Melo MVP after 4gms, K-Mart>Amar'e, and JR=Harden

He had a 7 game stretch where he averaged 22 PPG in 25 mpg on 52% shooting? He must have been = Ray Allen then!

What's the point in that?
There are times when the "new Jamal Crawford" looks better than Reggie Miller.
