Is this a joke? What has he done to even merit his asking for a trade?

Hopefully he is dealt w/ Trybanski in a combo to a team looking for cap relief.

I was just checking around, how about Trybanski and Harrington for Ricky Davis. It puts the Celtics team salary at around $33 million after next year, well below the salary cap, which I believe is at $38 or $39 million.

Davis would be a nice backup 2. Athletic, solid offensively, just a bit of a headcase.

Event if it were realistic, I wouldn't want Ricky Davis. Can't imagine him ever being a significant part of a championship team. I do want OH gone though. Hope he asks for a trade.

Harrington, Tryb, and Kurt Thomas might be enough to pry a pretty good player with a bloated Salary. Forget Ricky Davis for now.

"your a moron." Actually you are.

Danny Ainge said three times this year in the Boston papers that he wanted this team to be lottery bound and to rebuild. They already have a good swingman named Paul Pierce, and a guy to complement him in Jiri Welsch, who is going to need to be re-signed.

Davis makes $5 million to do what? Be 6th man? They'd much rather clear the cap and get him out of there (it's been rumored that he and Pierce dislike each other), free up money to re-sign Welsh and still have extra money left over for FA.

We've seen this year what expiring contracts can do. So next time you say that I am a moron at least do some research.

Davis is a team cancer (at least he was that in every team he played for).

At least, OH doesn't disturb the team, and act as a professionnal.

It's his full right to askfor a trade, good thing cause it's gonna happen soon.

regarding the expansion draft, don't you think we should protect him as his expiring contract would be a good tradable asset ?

loosing houston without any compensation would be bad imho, as we'd still be over the cap, with 20 ppg less.

I'm pretty sure they would'nt take penny, so no need to protect him.

Losing Houston would be a blessing since he still have a ton of years left on his contract. Penny are Shandon have less years remaining so they aren't as bad. So losing houston's max contract will be pretty huge if we wanna win in 3 years.

Othella deserves a trade....Maybe he'll go to Charlotte in the expantion draft. Othella always plays hard....he'll get like 20 straight DNP and they come into a game due to injury or foul trouble and have a decent game.

Respect to Othella Harrington....He'll find a team....sorry he had to sit on NY's bench so long wasting his career.

I think the starting cap for Charlotte would be totally wiped clean i fthey had Penny....or Houston for that matter.

I think they definately gotta leave Shandon unprotected. Depending on what their mentality is they could take Shandon cuz he's a vet that plays hard, work ethic...you know all that stuff that doesn't prove anything on the court if you suck anyway.

This has been a fun year already...now the Knicks are in the playoffs. Next will be the NBA draft and the expantion draft...and the long off-season.....
It's gonna be fun.

I thought that you could protect 8 guys.

So we should protect Mohammed, KT, TT, Marbury, Sweetney, Houston, FW, OH.

Baker and Johnson are FA's. Can't protect them.
Nobody is taking Penny and Anderson, or Moochie for that matter.
The only guy I'm worried about is Trybanski as he has a relatively big expiring deal. But why would an expansion franchise want that when they can terminate deals anyways with buyouts that do not count against the cap.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

A contract that expires in a season is not going to do much in the future will it?
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

you have to keep your expiring deals because you never know what will be available come the deadline. The worst thing Layden did was buy out Travis Knight to make room for Slavko Vranes. That may well have cost us Rasheed ( I didnt really want him anyway).

Deke, TSki and Othella equalls about $10 mill in expiring deals. That could be huge in making a deadline deal. If we dont make a trade thats 3 players gone to clear out some of the glut. Then you have TT, Nazr and Penny in their walk years the following season. I would hope IT continues to stock up on cheap young guys with upside as those are the best assets to put with expiring deals.
