Melo has always been pretty durable for his career. He rarely has had major injuries that have taken him out of a lot of games. However this year he has missed a good amount of games. I think he has missed 10 and may miss more if he gets his knee drained. Hopefully this wont happene next season because even though melo has his flaws the knicks wont go anywhere unless he is 100% healthy

Could be a valid concern. That extra weight might have something to do with it.

Counting the playoffs, he has over 27,000 NBA minutes of wear and tear. You'd have to expect him to be injury prone. Knees aren't built to withstand that amount of work, especially not with the extra weight he has.
I was just looking through players' profiles - it's amazing that Garnett and Kidd have played almost 50,000 minutes!

A lot of guys get minor injuries like Melo. Look at Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love, wade, etc. This isn't to be confused with injury prone like Amare. It's a concern but keep in mind he's played a lot of time at PF would absolutely factors in. Luckily his game is more movement, power, and skill, and relies less on athletic ability which would indicate baring any major injury, he will be able to put up good numbers for a long time. Might have to deal with him missing 10-15 games each year, but he should remain a big time scorer until he is 34-36 years old.

Good Point. i respect him for logging that many minutes but like i said the next 2 years we will go as far and melo takes us. If his knees start to get worse year by year it will be very bad for us and then we would have to rebuild after in 2015

I have no doubt that as long as he plays, he'll gets lots of PPG. How often will he be out though? As a Knick, he's missed about 1 in 6 games and you assume that he'll miss more games as he ages.

Jees Kobe has had knee surgeries and hes still plays a t a a high level.. Maybe Carmelo needs a nice draining some time off and then refresh the knee with training in the offseason. He has no serious injury and hes 29.
RIP Crushalot😞
