i am going to say camby. i think he will round out into game shape and provide that defense intensity off the bench and will gell with martin to solidify the second unit. the second unit will be important to spell the first unit. i am not going to lie. i am very concern about melo's health and we NEED him on this trip. the knicks are very ambiguous about his statis and i worry that it is worst than what they are letting on, which is typical with our medical staff.

Total team effort or we don't win, simple as that. I know without Melo and Amar'e it doesn't look good, but I'm going to approach these games one at a time and hope for the best- that Utah win gave me a boost.

Shumpert must continue to drive the lane, resulting in either lay-ups, assists or foul shots. We can also benefit from Martin's take no prisoners defensive posture. It sets a serious tone that has not been there for some time.

i fully expect camby to get hurt again during this roadtrip. When the guy is healthy he helps the problem is that he is only healthy 10% of the time.

I vote Kenyon Martin, his ability to play 1v1 DEF, rotate very well with TEAM DEF, and teaming up with Chandler will have great impact on the team
He might not have the post ability that Amare has shown thus far and be even undersized but he is just much more smarter than STAT on both ends on the game
Although he isn't the young Kmart anymore, he certainly is still one of the more athletic F's/bigs we have on the roster, and can still finish with a dunk with timely cuts

But I think it is more of a TOTAL TEAM EFFORT that is much more important rather than 1 person's impact
Less ISO mode's and attacking the opponent's DEF as a whole with penetration with mainly Felton/JR to open things up as a team

I am not saying we are a better team without Melo or/and Amare like Boston is without Rhondo, because we need them when we play superior teams in the playoffs
But
Like Boston after Rhondo's injury, the team plays with much more focus, team effort, and work's together as a whole hitting whoever is open
vs
more ISO plays where our plays are very much predictable and our team tends to stand around waiting for something to happen
It makes it easy for our opponents to defend by doing NOTHING, conserving their stamina, and gives them more chances to initiate fast breaks against our old/slow team DEF that isn't set

On Defense, we have to play it with our feet, head's, and communicate like we did for the first month
On Offense, we have to continue to hit the open man, use more pick's off the ball, initiate by penetrating much more *especially JR and Felton*, continue to keep the TO's down, get some more fast break opportunities, and be less predictable...

I agree about KMart. My darkhorse is Camby.

Felton is the engine....We rarely lose when he has a good to solid game. We always lose when he plays terrible.
