Raja Bell has been waived by the Utah Jazz.

Bell and the Jazz were unable to agree to a buyout before the Mar. 1 deadline, making him ineligible for the playoffs.

Bell hasn't played this season following a fallout with Tyrone Corbin.

It's like come on this has been going on since last year and they come to this finality. I sorta hope the Jazz have a bad off-season. There's a proper way to conduct business this isn't one of them.

Management already said they may do this anyway. They didn't feel they should play him to play for another team. So at least he knew if he wanted to play for a contender he would have to sacrifice some money. I do not necessarily agree with the Jazz but they did put it out there that they would keep him out of playing in the playoffs.

They did

But agents have power too, mess with their clients and cost them opportunities it can come back to seriously bite you in the butt. The Jazz are going nowhere this year and you can argue looking further into how they do business they haven't properly developed their talent either.

Yeah I was just think about why are they where they are. They have good peices but no cohesion. Mislap is probably gone and Jefferson seems like a poor mans Nene. Good numbers but not a difference maker. They need a pg in the worst way.

What is the market on Jefferson this summer?

Who knows but they should have traded one if not both Al and Milsap. Al will probably get a $45mil deal and Milsap $35mil

I remember when the Bulls did this to John Starks in his last season (or one of his last seasons). Bell kind of played a part though- he refused to give up any of his money, if he had he would have been set free. In a way that's the way it should be- I don't like players thinking they should get money for nothing.

They couldn't come to an agreement on a buyout, that's the sort of thing that takes two to tango,

Bell is equally 'at fault' here, he didn't care enough about playoffs ball to take a cut off his cash

that sucks but that's what happens when you burn bridges. the Jazz hooked Derek Fusher up midseason a few years ago so he could go back to LA and be near his daughter

same with Marbury, he wanted his money and not a penny less.

If Bell wanted a lessor amount and play, he could have.

not a dirty move by jazz. Maybe Bell is done.

They had a buyout amount agreed to, he and his agent had a hard time finding a team to offset what he would lose signing as a free agent. So instead of waving him prior to as a means to do good business...maybe somebody picks him up off waivers, maybe a team like us.... they held on to him until 1 week past the 1st and waived him.

Sorry that's a dirty move by the Jazz...

Bell got his money for not playing. Sounds like the Jazz did him a favor.

Team's best interest would have been to get value for Milsap and Jeff I guess they picked and chose what is and isn't important....

Like releasing Bell to a different team was going to derail their team...I believe because they felt his landing spot could be the Lakers it became a game of chicken.

Not sure if it's best interest Andrew when other agents take notes of such activity. Short Term I'll say Yes...Long Term No!

Cavs same boat with Casspi....

Interesting to note Jazz have slipped out of the playoff race and Irving has compounded his injuries tonight. Sometimes it's best to operate with a bigger picture in view instead of short sightedness.

And not one comment about how our douche owner historically pays people to play for other teams, pays them not to play, or even to play in other leagues, in other hemispheres.

We might be stupid, but at least we're not dirty!

And he even drives people's value up so they can live happy and comfortably in other markets.
